An updated look at applying W. D. Gann's controversial trading concepts to all major markets W. D. Gann continues to be one of the most controversial figures in technical analysis. Despite his detractors, his theories remain fundamentally solid, and have been successfully adapted by several generations of traders. In this authoritative text, expert technician James Hyerczyk presents a straightforward overview of Gann Theory, its basic principles, and its proper applications in creating profitable trading systems. Hyerczyk examines, in complete detail, such essentials as swing charts and trend indicators, percentage retracements, Gann angles, and cycle dates. With fresh information about how to use price scales when charting forex, equity, and ETF markets, as well as discussions on how to calculate Gann angles for each market, this Second Edition of Pattern, Price and Time is a must-read for anyone looking to thoroughly understandโand successfully implementโone of the most important and powerful trading methods in existence. Review: Fundamentals to Gann Theory - Pattern Price and Time is an excellent book to learn the fundamentals of Gann theory. No you will not learn the Square of 9 or 4, or all about the planetary vibratory aspects of Gann Theory. However, you will take in a plethora of knowledge about Gann Angles, Timing counts, Seasonality, Swing Analysis, Trend Indicator, and forecasting using both price and time. I've read the reviews here and believe that this book is WAY underrated. Being an active DAILY TRADER myself in the Forex market, I can tell you there is substantial meat in the order management skills presented in the text involving price and time. Most traders FAIL due to not knowing when to close a trade or holding losing trades... aka not knowing when to take a profit or taking too much risk. James covers how to deal with both of these areas using Gann Analysis to gauge risk and manage the trade from entry to exit. I have a pile of trading books that maybe 10-20 pages were worth the money spent, but this is not one of those books. The author makes no claim to teach the advanced Gann methods, and having studied those myself I would be beside myself not to mention that Michael S Jenkins, Patrick Mikula, and PN Reda are NOT the best starting places for Gann Theory for the amateur trader. This book gives the a solid foundation by staying practical, while developing the necessary concepts to successfully execute a trading system. Review: Five Stars - A good introduction to Gann's methods from a practical point if view.

Great information & easy to comprehend
The book is really informative and easy to understand. But some of the charts are quite hard to read as it is quite small, that's all.

A good resource to Gann's trading methodology
I am a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews for this book. I haven't been able to find comprehensive material on Gann's trading and this book does a great job of laying out the basics of identifying trends with swing high/lows. It also lays out constructing Gann angles for any price chart and I find it useful to set to compute roughly when the price targets will be reached. I would also recommend buying 45 years on Wall street by Gann to complement this book. For people doing trend and swing trading, this book is a great resource and it has definitely improved my trading results. Trading view also provides Gann's trading signals such as Gann Fan but laying it out on proper scale can be tricky. For me, the best part of the book is spotting trends and reversals.

Money better spent on other titles.
I have purchased many trading books over the years and I must say this one was a dissapointment. There is hardly any "nitty gritty" content on Gann Theory and it felt as if I was reading a book on the basics of swing trading with a little Gann thrown in. Given the price of the book and the content within, it seems over priced and there are much better books at a cheaper price.

Good book to cover basics of GANN Theory in a ...
Good book to cover basics of GANN Theory in a detailed manner. It will set you up for how GANN principles can be used in trading. Don't expect too highly however, as it does not detail trading systems or customized ways in which GANN can be used.

Waste of money
The book does not give any proper information. The content is too ambiguous and not easy to understand. Overpriced
