Perfect addition to my set of Friendly Village
This platter is perfect. I had inherited a set of dishes from my Aunt of Friendly Village and remember as a kid this was always gracing the table for Holidays. We never had a big platter for the turkey, and I was beyond excited to get this. It is perfect. The platter got here quickly and they took great care to make sure that it arrived safely in one piece. Very grateful and pleased with this order and the company.

I am over the moon!
Love Love Love. I can easily set a 25 pound turkey on here. Made in China, the colors are a tiny bit muted over the ones made in England but I prefer the muted anyway. The platter was packaged very well and made it to me in perfect condition!

I really do love this. What I did note was that some of the pieces are brighter in color than others. From what I have looked online the original place settings were made in England and have a very sharp and distinct color. The yellows, for instance are very lemon yellow. In this setting the yellow is more like a light yellow. and the other colors are more muted but I think I almost prefer the lighter colors and the newer version is microwavable and dishwasher safe. It says England on the back but I have read in other places that they are not made in England and instead made in China - all I can tell you about where it is crafted is what it says England on the back of some of the place settings. What I did find strange is that the large plates and soup bowls are a more muted color but some of the other pieces are a brighter color and almost looks like they don't belong together - but like I said I really like it, so can overlook that as well, but it just seemed strange - I am used to all pieces being the same color or tone.

Just a tiny bit too gray
I have no regrets about my recent purchases of the c u r r e n t Friendly Village dishes, now made in China. I will keep them. It is certainly Friendly Village. These dishes have been in my family for many years in two generations as our regular dressed up dishes for put on meals. However, the instant I saw the new production, one clear difference was noticeable. The shape, feel, and painted on artwork are all fine, BUT what is missed is that the light background (ivory colored) on a l l the new Friendly Village dishes is a shade darker than the original. I say "background", by which I mean the light color on which all the other artwork is painted. Surely it would not be too difficult for the new manufacturers to get that right. They flub it. To those having and used to the original, there is an element of disappointment. Nothing is perfect, but this could easily be improved. Place the old (made in England) and the new together, and the older looks better.

Beautiful dishes for Thanksgiving/Christmas
From reading other posts by others I knew what I was buying before purchasing. I think the dishes are gorgeous! I haven't noticed the color being different or vibrant from others in the same set. In receiving my package, two mugs were broken. I contacted the seller and received my two new mugs with in the week. Excellent customer service! I've attached three pictures for you to see. One picture is the stamped back of a dinner dish and the other picture is a front view of the same dinner dish. I also attached the broken mugs, but you can see the color better due to a closer picture. I have not seen the original set made in England to compare this new set made in China as others have seen, which some reviews stated some disappointment. I kinda like that these dishes are microwave/dishwasher/freezer safe. I ended up buying two of the 28 piece-set so I can have a serving for eight people and also bought the Johnson Brothers Friendly Village 6 - Piece Completer Set (platter, gravy boat/saucer, vegetable bowl and salt/pepper shaker). I can't wait to use them for my dining room table!

nice quality, big and heavy
This is really nice and I will prob get the other platters, too. it is so pretty- i love how it goes with everything and is big enough for huge turkeys and ham, has a depth for drippings and is so thick. highly recommend.
