Comfortable Trainer for Walking
These were ordered for hubby during lockdown. We were a bit dubious ordering footwear online as my hubby likes to feel and try on all footwear as due to a medical condition he likes to feel around the footwear for support and any internal rogue stitching that may rub or catch his feet. Hubby has big and wide feet and ordered a size 13 & 14 not knowing which one would fit best. The 13 turned out to be what my hubby calls a 13.5 based on other footwear he has and likes that little bit of extra room. This is not the first time we have purchased this brand/type of training shoe and more than happy to go back to it again this year, having last time gone for a "change" to another brand which in the end turned out to be not as good and comfortable as first thought and ended up in the bin! This may not be considered by some as the most trendy not having one of the more leading brand logo's embellished on it, but no point in having a high-price brand trainer that is vanity over comfort and not wearable. This trainer was purchased for casual walking only, not sport. It it light to wear, looks good comfortable with a padded insole, wide enough for the larger foot and has a really good rubber sole tread/grip on surfaces, which is important to my hubby to feel that security under his feet. As with the previous pair of the same type, there was no breaking-in period with these or rubbing on the feet. Will stick with this Hi-Tech brand trainer for as long as it is available. The price point is excellent too which is an added bonus. Delivery was great. The trainers were delivered next day. On slightly negative side, the experience of sending back unwanted size 14 via Hermes, collection was a nightmare and never happened and we ended up re-contacting Amazon for a new label and returned the item via the post office instead. Refund promptly received for the return.

Light weight but soles not flexible and not cushioned enough for running/jogging.
Comfortable and light on the feet and OK to walk in. When it comes to running/jogging they are not flexible enough and are not a patch on the Hitec Silver Shadow (unless they have changed since I bought a pair last year). They are a lot cheaper than the Silver Shadow but not an equivalent for exercising in and if that is what you want then pay the extra for the Silver Shadow. I didn't realise but the information with them says they are Vegan friendly and no animal was harmed in their manufacture which is commendable but they need a softer rubber in the soles and more cushioning if they are going to be anything more than casual use. I have had dozens of the Silver Shadow over the years and they are excellent for exercise - though only last 6 months with heavy use. These Blast Lite are going to need to last 2-3 years casual use to be worth the asking price of ยฃ32 but next time I will still probably buy another pair of the Silver Shadow as to me the price and vegan credentials is only borderline good enough. Update 22 02 24. The trainers have had only fairly light use (casual use as they are not suitable for sports such as running ) but the upper on one is separating from the sole over a distance of 3 inches or so and the other is just starting to separate. I don't think it will be long before they will be so badly split they will have to be thrown out. At five months old these Blast Lite are a waste of money. For the limited use they have had they should last at least a couple of years - and some. I will not be buying them again.

I always have at least one unworn pair of these in stock
When I find something that suits me I tend to stick with it . These trainers do that . I like their look , their lightness and their easy clean construction . They are also pretty hard wearing and available at an affordable price .I found them as I have for years been a fan of the " Hi Tech " brand ( specifically the " silver shadow" training shoe from back in the days that I ran a lot ). Hi Tech's level of technical research and development was pretty legendary in the " affordable price range - and still is in my opinion . Anyway if you want a comfortable leisure shoe and don't judge quality by the number of pound notes you have to part with ..........These are for you ! ONE CAVEAT !!!! Many years have passed since " Fashion " was a prime director of mine . I have no idea if these are considered fashionable - I do know that they are damned fine shoes . Get some while you still can !

Comfortable and practical
Comfortable, true to size. not sure how durable yet, but they are definitely functional. Not a high level brand so if you're about the label and not the substance, look elsewhere. If you want a comfortable pair of trainers for everyday wear, look no further.

The sizing has changed
Update 09/23. I've had a couple more pairs since the last review and they've been fine. I think it's been a bit hit and miss with them but hopefully they are back to being sized correctly again. The price has increased a lot though Update of previous review 07/20. I bought yet another pair of these trainers that I've been buying for years but this time they were a little tight at the toe. Hopefully they will stretch a little as my last pairs did but they seem slightly smaller than a usual size 9. I'm now unsure if to buy these any more. I've never reviewed these before but thought it was time I did. This is my 3rd pair of these HI-Tec Blasts and they last longer than many others I've tried but as with all things manufactured these days, things aren't what they used to be. The heels tend to go on them leaving a 'honey cone' construction with holes so the water gets in and stones rattle around in the heel when you walk. These do that too, but not as quickly as others. I'm still wearing the last pair I bought in June 2018 and they are fairing well and expect to get another 6 months out of them worn almost daily. The previous pair to those are in the bin after about a year or so of regular use. They are comfortable, the inner sole shaped for your foot better than some I've bought and fairly water resistant having been our in the rain many times in them but still had dry feet. Like everything, the price has gone up by ยฃ10 since my first pair so they aren't as good value as they once were but I prefer that than the price staying the same but the quality suffering
