Pictures are incorrect... perhaps is not a C2G/Cables to Go USB3 cable. Wondering aloud....
Pictures are incorrect... as far USB 3 color coding of the end connectors are concerned and how the cable is coiled for packaging. You know, the USB standards are quite clear! At least, this is what those that should know tell me... The Super Speed USB 3 cables have a blue color coding on the connector ends. Not this cable as both cable ends are black! Further, where is the embossed logo of C2G/Cables to Go? And what about the packaging, was this an after thought? Was this a return? There is no way to tell this is actually a C2G/Cables to Go cable. Why did I pay a premium for this cable over the Amazon "AmazonBasics USB 3.0 Cable - A-Male to B-Male - 6 Feet (1.8 Meters)" cable? Because I'm an idiot...The question is... will it support USB3.0 connectivity and performance? Well, the connectivity is probably assured considering the cable ends are of the correct form factor.I was curious... Some performance measures... using an “OWC Mercury Pro 16X Blu-ray, 16X DVD, 48X CD Read/Write solution” and the OWC included 24” USB 3 cable... using a tool to extract data from a Blu-ray disk (using the tools reported read transfer rates):OWC Mercury Pro’s included cable (0.6 meter/2 feet) 23.4 M/s sustained, peak 24.8 M/sC2G/Cables to Go cable (2 Meter/6.5 Feet) 18.4 M/s sustained, peak 21.5 M/sHmmm, there is a difference. Hold on, before you go running off to condemn the C2G/Cables to Go cable, here’s another test with a “Cable Matters USB 3.0 Cable (USB 3 Cable/USB 3.0 A to B Cable) in Black 6 Feet”:Cable Matters (6 feet) 30.7 M/s sustained, peak 32.9 M/sWell, ain’t that interesting... the $5.99 Cable Matters cable beat the $7.89 C2G/Cables cable and also beat the OWC Mercury Pro’s included cable.I was going to mention cable length as being the “problem” with C2G/Cables to Go cable, as compared to the OWC Mercury Pro’s included cable. The Cable Matters cable performance negates that reasoning. With USB 3, cable distance does make a difference, but apparently not here with these low xfer rates. One thing that I look for is how the cable packaged. Is the cable coiled in a circular method, or is it coiled in a figure eight method? The pictures for the C2G/Cables to Go cable shows the cable coiled in a circular method, but it arrived coiled in a figure eight method. So did the OWC Mercury Pro’s included cable arrived coiled in figure eight method. But NOT the Cable Matters cable, it was coiled in a circular method. After 25+ years in IT world of UNIX, I tend to toss out cables delivered in the coiled figure eight method. Why? The resulting kink in the cable is a real PITA to deal with! And the radius of the turns at both ends of the figure eight coil... too small? So, what’s my bottom line? I don’t think I will be buying anymore C2G/Cables to Go cables. They are expensive, slower, and C2G/Cables to Go is ignoring USB3 specifications. The cable connector color gives one an assurance that USB 3 specs are, at least, acknowledged. My unprovable suspicions are that this is a USB2 cable sold as a USB3 cable.

Not Judging A Book By It's Cover
I ordered these cables because I have several portable usb 3.0 external hard drives but the usb 3.0 ports on my desktop are all on the rear and difficult to get to. To maintain speed and power at each port I figured I'd just get these cables, leave them plugged in all the time and just have them hung near the front of my box for ease of access. They came quickly and in good condition but are decidedly *blue*. Periwinkle blue if you will. I figured I'd made a mistake in ordering and just hooked them up anyways. They work fine. Upon being reminded to review the product, I see that I didn't actually make a gaffe, I did order *black* cables which better match my taste and blend in with my box. They seem a little short for cables that are supposed to be 3 feet long but I haven't pulled out the tape measure just yet.The bottom line is that the cables work and where delivered quickly, albeit in the wrong color (which is interesting because the packaging is clear). I can only assume somebody in shipping is mixing up a probable abbreviation of Blue and Black which are probably shown as BL and BLK or something like that...

Finally...a 6-foot USB 3.0 cable that actually works!
After purchasing two different 6-foot USB 3.0 cables to replace the short factory cable that came with my StarTech external hard drive enclosure, I was ready to give up! Each of the first two cables (the StarTech USB3SAB6BK and the Uspeed AK-68UNAMBM-G) would not allow the drive to be recognized; re-installing the original shorter cable, the unit was instantly recognized. Replacements sent from the vendor had the same result. I tried every install combination I could think of to get these cables to work properly; they did function as a USB 2.0 connection, but what good did that do for me? I am convinced that the manufacturer's name on the Amazon listing does not necessarily mean that it originates from that source; if it did, why would a "StarTech" cable not work seamlessly with a StarTech enclosure? Duh!?! Although in each case the full purchase price was refunded through Amazon, it was very frustrating to have what seemed a simple upgrade turn into an exercise in returning goods. As a last effort to make it happen, I ordered the Cables-to-Go 54174 cable. The cable arrived very quickly, and as soon as the connection was made, the drive was recognized; shock and amazement, and finally, great relief! Good quality, durable cable; sure to last a long time. Perfect, perfect, perfect!

Great USB 3.0 Cables
I have always thought most highly of the Cables to Go brand. They are always very high quality, at a reasonable price. Cables to Go is my "go to" brand. I have never had a failure or a problem of any kind. For some reason, I seen to have some trouble finding the Cables to Go brand on Amazon, so I often go to the Cables to Go website to get the correct item numbers, and read any helpful technical literature about fine differences in the cables, but I always buy from Amazon to get a better price. I no longer buy direct. BTW, I highly suggest going from USB 2 to USB 3 for nearly all applications, as it is 10 times faster, and you don't have the problems that you have with SATA cables, which don't like to be over 3 feet long without causing transfer problems. SATA connections suck, once you have tried USB 3. You can have a 10 foot USB 3 cable hooked up to a Docking Station that is far away, that is safe and protected.I miss some of the colored cables and lighted cables that they used to carry in more variety, which makes it easy to tell one cable from another, which is helpful in some situations.

Excellent and Superb Product
Excellent product and service. When the product arrived it was raining in Northern Alberta at the time. There was no water damage to the product inside. Which made me happy. I opened the package up and everything was neatly sealed and air tight which was a bonus. I plugged it in so I could use my external and it work like a charm. Nothing was wrong with it and it ran fast without any problems at all. Overall experience 10 out of 10 would recommend to friends and family and nothing to complain about.Christopher Pord.

Buen Producto
Sin duda muy funcional y óptimo, para reemplazar el que viene en la Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle 3.0 (ya que el de origen ha venido malo); me ha dado solución a mi problema.

Works as advertised - so far (3 days)
The product arrived in the mail on time.It should be noted that it is not exactly the same product as the one pictured in the product description. (The one in the description is much longer than one metre and black, whereas the one I received was blue.I am using the cable w/ an older Macbook Pro (USB 2.0) so I cannot compare transfer speeds w/ the original cable supplied with the "WD My Passport" with this one, as other reviewers have.Due to the fact that the product page *falsely* advertised in the photo, as well as in writing that the product is black, when it is blue, I will remove one star. (4/5)This is a very preliminary review and I will adjust if anything changes.
