Plantronics M214C Headset with Adjustable Volume

Reasons I bought this product: Plantronics is a good name brand, so I was expecting quality Tired of having to pair Bluetooth headsets and worry about their battery life and recharging nonsense Bluetooth ear pieces DO NOT fit my ear, they fall out or they just hurt I've lost a Bluetooth ear piece and it was very expensive, these headset are inexpensive and attached to my phone... perfect. Noise canceling microphone with simple Sound Volume, Microphone Volume and Microphone Mute I made 1 mistake: The headset comes with a 2.5mm plug and at the time I ordered this I did not realize that fact. Really not a big deal, so if you are ordering from amazon just make sure you order a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter for use with most cell phones. The Pros: -Item came in factory packaging, and I didn't have to cut the package open.. just open it without any tools which I really enjoy. -The construction is sturdy, but not stiff. When I put it on my head it is very light and it doesn't squeeze my head but it definitely does not fall off either. When i'm not on a call I have it around my neck. - I am using this product with my iPhone4s, and it really is a pleasure to have a good quality noise canceling microphone. It works with siri and also with the microphone button on the iphone keyboard, which basically records what you say and types it for you. So I can text/email while driving, just by speaking. - I can drive with my windows open and have a phone conversation, and people say I sound perfectly clear and they only hear me, no traffic noise or wind blowing noise - The sound out of the ear phone is crystal clear, I actually think it is clearer than my phone's built in speaker I would definitely recommend this product to everyone and anyone that has a cellphone and wants reliability and quality. Very small investment that packs a whole lot of benefits. I am actually ordering 2 more of these headsets, and I am going to leave 1 in each of my vehicles to make life even easier, and I can have 3 of these ($45) at half the cost of 1 Bluetooth earpiece If you LOVE your Bluetooth earpiece, having this Plantronics M214c headset as a BACKUP device is also a great idea.

I work in Sales and spend 50% of my time at a desk on a phone and the other 50% on the road. I used to spend lots of money going to the Chiropractor because of neck pain- mostly due to holding the phone between my ear and shoulder while I typed or hand-wrote orders. This inexpensive little headset(and a memory foam pillow) fixed everything. No more chiropractor visits for me! My hands are free to type or write and I can talk to my customers without straining my neck. My office uses AT&T multiline phones with a minijack headset jack (same size as a mobile phone jack). This works perfectly. Years later, my father, who also works in sales, was complaining of neck pain. I purchased a panasonic phone with headset jack from Amazon, and one of these plantronics headsets- he said he felt improvement right away. If you are on the phone at work, I definitely recommend a headset. This one is lightweight and comfortable. The sound is decent and everyone can hear me loud and clear. It feels flimsy, but I've had this one for 3 years and have put a lot of hours in on it, and it's still working perfectly, the the flimsy appearance is deceiving. I've tried other headsets which involve plugging into the handset jack and always feel like the cords become a tangled rat's nest. I definitely prefer having a phone that will take the mini jack.

My only question mark about this product is its durability, since I haven't had it very long. It's very lightweight, which makes it quite comfortable, but also could lead to problems later on (just speculating, it's been perfect so far). The adjustment mechanism is just like you find on lower-end headphones, except only on one side, the earpiece side. It's so light, and nicely padded, that I could almost forget I'm wearing it. People say they can hear me fine and I have gotten no complaints. The long boom I think is perfect; it picks up your voice well but it's off to side slightly so people on the other end don't hear you breathing. Otherwise it's just as advertised. The volume and mute and (I assume) gain controls work fine, and the clip stays on if you choose to use it. Make sure the cord is long enough for you. If you want to plug it into a corded set and walk around the room or something it won't work, but for a cordless phone that you can put in your pocket or clip on, it's just fine. Oh, and the output sound quality is just fine too, at least as good as my phone itself and maybe better. Certainly far better than speakerphone. I've heard that wired headsets tend to wear out after about a year, but if that proves to be the case this was only 15 bucks, so it's annoying to landfill something like that, but not financially a problem.

Great headphones, work like a charm, very clear, lightweight and everything else you would expect from plantronics!

Bought this to use with my work blackberry as I do a lot of conference calls on it and would like a comfortable (not ear plug style) hands free to do stuff on laptop at same time. The jack was too small - so I bought an adapter separately, but my blackberry still did not recognise it as a headset. Returned it on 18 March and still waiting for refund (now 31 March).

Using this product since the last 5 years. No problems
