WIll this work with a HP LaserJet 2100 and will it print from both Windows and Mac?

Yes, I used it as a print server on a network specifically so it could be used by our Mac and PC. It works great, though sometimes it doesn't print and you need to "reboot" it by unplugging it and plugging it back in.

is this compatible with all printers

This unit is designed to add an older printers with a serial connector to your network. It is NOT designed for a USB style connector.

does this have to be hooked to a computer

No. This plugs into your network (Ethernet) and your printer. It turns your printer into a network device that runs by itself without its own dedicated computer.

Anyone connect to Android Phone?

This has a wired Ethernet connection (RJ-45) and an external power supply. An Android phone would need to connect to a standard laptop or desktop computer first or other networked device to address this print server.
