Seagate 1TB Backup Plus Slim Portable External Hard Drive + 1Yr Mylio Create + 2MO Adobe CC Photography, Red (STHN1000403)

This is my umpteenth "external hard drive" as I used many of them for backup storage.I was always skeptical of 'single' large capacity storage devices, simply for the fact that when they go berserk, a large amount of Data can be lost.Last Year, I bought my first 2TB 'single' storage device. It failed to be written to after just three months, at 23% usage. It will read the Data but not accept being written to.So I return to the largest 'single' device I've always used, 1TB .This brand is one which I have used in many format and size (2.5", 3.5") and have had positive results, so it was no big deal to chose it.This device I'm writing about surprises me pleasantly though. It is light weight, flat and very fast.Can't say how long it will last but so far I have used it often, many read and write operations without any problems.I would totally purchase another or more units for future backups.

Using for 2015 iMAC with 1TB of storage...had to reformat but was very easy to do and backed up in a decent amount of time good price

I love the new look and how easy it is to install on my Mac. I have 4 of these drives and had some for around 2 1/2 years and still working with no issues.

Works very well with an ezcap286 but the most recent version has a hard time with its NTFS file format. Older but same drive work's flawlessly this one might need to be reformatted to Fat32. Still working on getting it to work with this model properly. Including img files.

At exactly half it's capacity for storage it quit working -- seagate has been a good source in the past but I will not buy such storage again when it does not work in the manner in which you pay for

When reading on-line reviews, I always look at the lower scores and when they were dated. Older and newer reviews were pretty scary for most every brand of portable hard drive in my price range. My two year old 1T Seagate has functioned flawlessly so I decided to stick with Seagate. Upon hooking it up, a message popped up that read something like "Hard drive is receiving too much power". According to the www, this could be caused by many things including a bad power cable. So I tried my old cable but got the same message. After hours of chasing down other possible causes, my temper forced the new cable into the hard drive port and it started working just fine. I discovered that either cable could make or break the connection depending on which way it was wiggled. A bad cable port was never mentioned in the reviews! I can only hope that keeping the HD stationary during future file transfers will avoid breaking its connection, loosing data or causing permanent damage to the 300+ gb worth of files already successfully loaded. I'm not one to return on-line purchases but if Seagate is aware of the problem and is listening...?

I've had excellent luck with these Seagate drives. I ordered this one and it worked fine for a week or so then it was no longer being recognized by any computer I plugged it into. I was still in the return window so I decided to return it for a refund and bought another similar Seagate drive at a local brick and mortar store. I still like Seagate but sometimes you get a bad product from any company once in a while.

This works great on my Mac. Good price at the time I bought it.

少し迷って購入した赤色だが、オフィスにおいても目立た過ぎないシックな赤でした。取説類の字が小さくてよく読めていませんし、バックアップソフトの使用法がパッと見ではわかりませんが、コピーは問題なくできたのでひとまずOK。

Quase um mês de uso e estou gostando bastante, sou meio cética com hd externo pois já tive um que simplesmente parou de funcionar e perdi muitos arquivos de trabalho, mas a qualidade do seagate está me deixando muito contente.

USBで接続するだけで別電源も不要なので手軽。サクサクと動作も軽く、特に不満を感じる部分は今のところありません。

まだ使用1ヶ月くらいだか問題なく使えてる他の方が書かれていたようにしばらくアクセスしないと電源が切れる使用だった
