Small, fast, inexpensive...yep.
Light, small desk space footprint, fast monochome printing, and wireless. I literally can't ask for anything more. This printer replaced an HP 6600 all-in-one whose ink would dry up after 4 days of no use. We were blowing through money on toner due to that issue. We realized we needed nothing more than basic black an white printing and the M2020W came to our rescue like a knight in shining armor except for it's a printer sans armor. The finish on the plastic is matte also. Set up was snap, used the CD that was included but there is a website you can go to as well that downloads a file and works the same way. Total set up time was about 10 minutes. Wireless works great from across the house and there is also a cloud printing feature which is excellent and quite useful at those random times when you need to print something at home from somewhere else. The printer itself is super basic, no scanning, no faxing, just printing. The page feeder holds about 100 pages. Print speed is quick and quality is solid. Black and white for the win. There is one Toner module to swap when it's empty. Some other thoughts: -Amazon sells this for $83+tax. Replacement toner is $43+tax for brand name. Staples sells the printer alone for $129.99 and the same toner there is over $60. -This is a laser, toner won't "dry out" like inkjet style printers

Nice printer, wireless printing could be better
The printer works fine, very compact size. I first tried it with NFC printing (from a Samsung smart phone) and that works great! Nearly as fast as USB printing, although you have to install a Samsung printer app on the phone. I had to install the Samsung software on a Windows PC in order to get the printer's wireless configured with a password for my network. Setting up Google cloud printing wasn't hard, but sometimes it prints in 30 seconds, and sometimes it takes 10 minutes! Tried Wi-Fi direct printing, and it found the printer OK, but I gave up waiting for it to finally print. I got it for a receipt printer, and I can't keep a customer waiting for 5 or 10 minutes for the printer to finally receive a print job. Wound up connecting it via the included USB cable to a Linux netbook. The printer works fine under Linux, but the Samsung Universal Print Driver requires you to run a shell script to install it. The wireless printing does work, just be aware that it may be much slower than a USB cable.

Giving it 4 stars out of the box - PC user
10 minutes from unboxing to printing. If you have any modicum of security on your network you will have to connect the printer to your PC to complete installation. But, even so it is essentially plug and play. No useless coaster comes with it, just connect to website download software, you get a choice whether to install internet diagnostics or just the driver and also a printer manager. I skipped the diags and opted for the manager. It does take a good two minutes to fire up the first time, and there was an aroma of heated plastic. I was ready to run into the kitchen and get the fire extinguisher, but it's all fine. No fire, no smoke. The only other thing that threw me was the the button on the printer for WPS. Normally, on any other device, means Wireless Protected Setup and it only needs to be activated during setup to connect to your network, so after set up was complete and I saw it was still on I hit that button so the light would go out. And I was no longer connected, had to go into the printer manager and reconnect. So, for this printer It really is just a network connectivity light, and if it's not lit, it means you're not connected. After setup is complete you get a choice whether to receive annoying "supplies" messages, and a couple of other notifications which I've already opted out of and forgotten. Actually I may not have gotten those options until I ran the printer manager to reconnect to the network. Either way, you actually have a choice. The prints are clear and the type is dark. It's cute and compact. Little wheezy while printing, and I also got some speaker noise during setup, but nothing since, no constant whine. I've only had it up and running for a half hour now, but so far so good. You might be interested to know that it actually is an HP printer branded Samsung, as HP provides the warranty on the printer. For this money, and not having ink cartridges dry up between infrequent printing, I'm going to say it's worth it. I reserve the last star to leave a place for a future update. But feels like a good purchase. Edit 2.23.2019 I still like this little guy. I see folks after me have not had good experiences. Aside from the hot plastic smell the first time I fired it up, I have had no issues with this printer. I don't print often, and I was sick and tired of paying $75 for inkjet cartridges to have them dry out between printings. The print is still clear and dark, and every time I've attempted to print (maybe four times since my original review) it's fired right up. I can see where dragging it around to every device in the house to connect with USB would be a pain as another reviewer said, but that didn't apply to me. I still say it's a good deal. I bought two cartridges with the printer, so I will be upset if somehow those don't work, but I didn't have any installation issues where I needed to install a "fix". So hopefully that will not apply to me. I guess a year or two from now when I try to change the cartridge I'll find out. For this price and the perfectly acceptable quality of the prints, maybe it won't be that upsetting.

Awesome cheap printer
I'm giving this 5 stars because once you get it working it works great! For such a cheap price as well. Let me give you the run down and how I set it up. First of all. It is about impossible to set up without a computer despite the manual (which isn't included in the box) saying you can set it up using the WPS button on your router and on the machine. Despite trying many times, I could not get it to work. Perhaps it is just in my situation as my multiple routers in the house were not set up properly and I had to fix them so I could use this printer properly (my own fault/laziness). Once I gave up I connected it to a computer and downloaded the program off the HP website (its a Samsung/HP printer) I connected it with USB (included in the box and I tried and failed using the wireless option) which installed the drivers (unnecessary, I'll get to that in a bit) but more importantly assigned the credentials of the wireless network of my choosing to the printer. After that I was essentially done! Anyone connected to the router that the printer was connected to could see the printer and print from it. This works regardless of whether you're on the 5ghz band or the 2.4ghz band, though the printer itself connects to the 2.4ghz, you can discover it on either. We have many devices in our home. For mobile phones it works with or without the app. On iOS or Android you can, in any app, simply choose print functionality integrated right into the operating system. For Mac computers it was just as easy, literally just open a document and select print and it will find the printer. For windows there's an extra step necessary, you simply have to go to devices and printers and add it. Then it's ready to use. I installed the drivers on two of the computers in the house and left the rest without and see no difference in print quality, speed, or functionality. Lastly, we have three routers in the house. If you want the printer to be able to print across multiple routers you're going to have to have them set up as access points. Normally one can extend their wireless signal simply by having multiple routers connected and with the same credentials. However access points are slightly different in that the routers speak to each other and you only have one router handing out IP's. It's very easy to do. Just turning off two or so options on all but the main router and connecting the ethernet via the ethernet ports and not the internet one. Edit ——————————————————— Fuser died at one month. Returning

Excelllent printer/great value, works flawlessly
So happy with this printer. I have only had it a day but it was VERY easy to set up to print from all my devices wirelessly. The printer is also much smaller in size/footprint than I had anticipated, which makes me very happy. It came with the printer, printer cord, electric cord, and cd print driver. It has a toner cartridge already in place. So far I have printed wirelessly with it from my laptop and my ipad. It has a place where you can tap with your phone to print, but I have not tried that yet. The printing it does is perfect for my needs. I can find no flaw. i read that the drum is included as part of the cartridge and it seems cartridge prices are reasonable compared with like the brother printers which I also considered but had mixed reviews and cost more for wireless printing. Anyways, so far loving this printer. If anything changes, will update my review in the months ahead.

Looking for a more affordable toner option for Samsung SL-M2020W -- comments by a user of product.
For those who are asking about toner alternatives: E-Z Ink (TM) Compatible Toner Cartridge 2K Replacement for Samsung 111S 111L MLT-D111S MLT-D111L (2 Black Toners) Compatible With Xpress M2020W Xpress 2070FW Printer Sorry for the long post: E-Z Ink (TM) Compatible Toner Cartridge 2K Replacement for Samsung 111S 111L MLT-D111S MLT-D111L (2 Black Toners) Compatible With Xpress M2020W Xpress 2070FW Printer - Toner for Samsung SL-M2020W. I purchased an extra Samsung brand toner as I knew the new printer would have a cartridge that has a smaller amount of toner (as most printer brands do). Yes, they are expensive. Then I started reading the review on several different vendor websites about toner comments. I selected EZink Premium Toner Cartridge through Amazon MLT-D111L for M2020 (2 pieces--i.e., two cartridges). It comes with a 100% Quality Guarantee. And two cartridges in the box. - Invoice Description: E-Z Ink (TM) Compatible Toner Cartridge 2K Replacement for Samsung 111S 111L MLT-D111S MLT-D111L (2 Black Toner Cartridges) Compatible With Xpress SL-M2020W Xpress SL-M2070W Xpress SL-M2070FW Printer by E-Z Ink $16.99. Note: Purchase of 4 cartridges is the same price as purchasing 2 cartridges in one box. Don't know if the $3.00 cartridge order coupon will apply in future. This as of 12/1/2017. Saw and sharing from EZINK: - Website: Samsung User -- This note appears when buying E-Z Ink: when we put this toner in to a samsung m2020w did not recognize it and did not work, what can we do? --asked on October 21, 2015 - Answer by EZINK -- Never allow manufacturers to update your printer. There is a chip on the side of the Samsung toner, remove the chip and place it on the EZINK toner. EZINK should be aware of this problem and provide duplicate chips on their toners. --Amazon Customer answered on October 23, 2015

Frustrating experience with Samsung Printer Xpress M2020W
Frustrating experience with Samsung Printer Xpress M2020W – WPS was the issue and tech support sent me in the wrong direction Initial printer setup was easy on my MacBook Pro and took less than 10 minutes to setup and print over Wi-Fi network. I inserted the disk, followed the instructions and my first print job came out in no time. This is when the problems began… 1. Streaks! Every sheet I printed had major streaks down the left side of the page. 2. Tech support: I went online and chatted with Samsung tech support and they told me to print a test page by pushing the WPS button- nothing happened so I pushed it again, still nothing. They suggested I hold it down for 10 -15 seconds, still nothing. 3. Printer goes offline: At this point the printer went offline and could not be found on my Wi-Fi network. I told tech support that this started when I held down the WPS button and they told me to press it again for 5 seconds until the light blinks, that didn’t work. a. Then they told me to: unplug the unit, cycle the power on and off, reinstall the printer, restart my computer… after 3 hours of tinkering they said to ship the printer back to them. 4. Hold WPS button for 15 seconds fixed issue: Since shipping the printer back was going to be a hassle I Googled WPS Wi-Fi issues and found that I just needed to hold down the WPS button for 15 seconds. After that the printer worked fine, and apparently all the shaking and unplugging and moving fixed my streaking issue. Tech support - Holding down the WPS button for 15 seconds would have saved me/us from a 3+ hour headache! Printer: -Print quality is decent -Print time is very fast- there is almost no warm up period. -Cheap price for a compact laser printer - I like the compact size -Easy to setup once you know the nuances I recommend this printer with reservations given the issues I experienced. Now that it’s set up, it works exactly how I wanted it to, but getting here was an unnecessary hassle.

Samsung SL Wireless Monochrome Printer
After years of using a inkjet printer which I was happy with. I just got tired of buying all that ink. The ink got more expensive and refilling it myself was just not worth my time. Saw another Samsung model printer being promoted on one of the technical blogs I frequent. They were sold out. Amazon was also sold out, for the same price. This Samsung model was "suggested" so I checked out the reviews and decided to purchase for the price given! I also purchased the Samsung toner as well. I know, I know...there are off name brands that were offered cheaper. But for my first time I purchased the Samsung toner. The printer had a toner, setup CD and the USB cord included. The instructions were quite clear and easy to set up. I have a Apple IPhone 6 Plus and an IPad 2. I also have a Dell very, very old laptop. I did not plug in the printer to warm it up as instructed. I inserted the CD and followed the step by step instructions. When it came up to go wireless or USB. There was also a step where you could set up with the USB "temporarily and after setup disconnect USB." I chose that one. Followed every step, there was a point where you "Power on-connect USB" etc. and then at the "Finish." I disconnected the USB from my laptop to the printer. I checked if the Samsung was listed under printers on my Dell laptop and it was! I only had to check it as my "default." Then I checked my IPhone 6+ and there it was after I "searched for printers" and then I printed a test and it worked perfectly! I then checked my IPad2 and again there was the printer! Printed a test page and was successful. I did not download any app into my IPhone or IPad...there was no need too. The Apples just picked the printer up! And as I said before my Dell did the same. The printer is very compact and takes no space at all. It also goes to sleep after a time. But I completely turn it off when I am done using it. And the best part is the "Eco-printing" step that you can use before you print so as to save toner. It prints in grayscale! I was also very satisfied when it prints normally. The black toner works very well. Some reviews have complained on the cost of the toner. But it is not a game stopper for me,12,000 pages vs 300 in black or grayscale.

Super printer for the price and quality
So far, so good, this printer seems very good! The installation was a breeze, as soon as it as been on my WiFi connection, the airprint was working, no other program to install or to download, Highly recommend this printer, it print fast, quietly, the size is small and pretty. The toner recharge are a bit expensive, but you can find jobber ones at about 39$ at 123inkcartrides.ca but I rather purchase a good printer that takes expensive cartridges than poor quality printer that takes inexpensive toners

Great little printer.
Great solution for my home use. Been testing for 2 weeks. I finally gave up on the all-in-one printer/scanner/fax inkjet as we mostly just print black and white and the inkjet refill industry is criminal. Pros: - simple, fast, high-quality printing - small printer - wireless printing from anywhere in house (2-storey) - relatively easy setup - PC and iphone Cons: - poor instructions for connecting to your iphone - says you need there app, but on iOs 9, i simply chose "print" and it found the printer but there was some confusion up to this point. - you need a cd drive to run install the PC software
