I have a whole house surge protector installed.  Can I use this intermatic ag3000 hooked at my furnace plus another one at my outdoor ac service?

A whole house surge protector, is primary protection. A furnace surge protector is secondary protection. You need both. The furnace has a sensitive circuit board which can, and I have seen, blow out from a surge. These circuit boards can run about $300 from the HVAC tech, if he/she has one in the middle of the winter. Plus the service call charge.

Aloha, I don't understand how this works, The wiring looks like its parallel to the equipment it's protecting. How does it protect it?

I placed one at my disconnect box outside by the AC unit. Once you kill the power and remove the cover that hides the wiring, all you do is attach one black wire to each of the incoming hot wires from the house, then connect the green to the ground wire then you have your 220 protected before it reaches your AC unit. to hook it up to your inside furnace you have to twist both black wires together to the incoming hot wire and ground to ground making it a 120 volt surge protector.

do you need this if you have a whole house surge protector that protect the entire fuse box?

It is not required but it is always recommended that you get one to individually protect the outdoor condenser.

This model AG3000, I would serve to protect 100% of my apartment? or just a line? What model would serve me?

This will protect only the piece of equipment it’s installed on. This device should not be installed on more than 1 piece of equipment, if you have to ask you probably should have one professionally installed.
