Limited edition clamshell box contains 11 CDs in paper sleeves. As the world's biggest selling female artist of all time Madonna is not just the Queen of Pop but one of the most influential artists on modern music. This brilliant set is the perfect way to own her amazing catalog at a fantastic price. Review: A near complete album set from 1983 through 2008 - This collection is amazing. It’s her complete discography run with Warner Brothers on her first contract run from 1983 until 2008, there is a notable exception in the fact that I’m breathless, music from and inspired by the film Dick Tracy is not part of this collection because it was considered a concept album, nor are the singles from who’s that girl, the immaculate collection, something to remember and celebration. Other than that it’s an amazing value for the buck. Review: A must have - This box set has all of Madonna’s cds from Madonna to Hard Candy (studio albums only) in paperback sleeves. It is a must have for any Madonna fan.

The Divorce Box-Set
This is a cheap and cool way to get all of Madonna's albums in a compact package that doesn't take up nearly as much shelf space as owning all 11 individually-cased CD's. I call it the "Divorce Box-Set" because my ex kept all the Madonna albums when we separated. : ) There's not much point in reviewing the albums, because most people know what they're in for, but it's worthy to note that both the Erotica, and Music CD's each contain a single bonus track ("Did You Do It?" on the former and "Cyber Raga" on the latter). They're not stellar songs, but it's neat to have them if you're a collector. As for the packaging... each CD has a cardboard sleeve much like a miniature LP. All 11 albums are stacked (loosely) in the outer box. It's about the thickness of an old double/quadruple CD case... ala Billy Joel's Greatest Hits Vol 1 & 2, or Prince's Emancipation release. Not bad for 11 albums. And the price has even decreased since I purchased it, which makes it an awesome deal for anyone who wants all of Madonna's studio albums. I would have been willing to pay a little more to have the 3 compilation CD's included (Immaculate Collection, Something to Remember, and GHV2) but, I'm sure to many that would be repetitive. Great idea. 'Glad I bought it.

Good for what it is
I purchased this set while it was on sale. It came out to about four dollars an album, which isn't bad at all. You get exactly what it says-the complete studio albums. Nothing more, nothing less. It's a good set for people that haven't bought all the albums yet, or need to replace some. I was missing three of them before getting this, and I wanted a back up copy of Ray of Light since it isn't available separately anymore. Each album brings back memories of when I first heard them, or heard about them. I got the debut, Like a Virgin, True Blue, and Like a Prayer when I was a kid. The first 3 are still my favorites. When Erotica came out, I didn't like her new image or the 90s dance beats, so I didn't buy the album. I also didn't buy Bedtime Stories even though I liked the title track. Ray of Light came out and I got that one. I thought it was great. Music continued her electronica style. I was surprised to see the copy in this set contains an 11th track, "American Pie", a song I hated when it was new but I don't mind it now. My original copy only has 10 tracks. I heard American Life was her worst album and didn't buy that one either. I didn't like the song Hollywood very much and the rest seemed boring. But now I like at least half the album, especially "X-Static Process" which is one of my favorites. Confessions is a really good dance album, it has one of my favorite songs on it, "Get Together". I like all the songs except two. Hard Candy is often called her worst album now, but I don't think it's so bad. I like half of it while the other half is okay. "Dance 2night" is a great retro sounding song, like an early 80s dance/R&B/Michael Jackson style song, with a really great ending that is different from the rest of the song. There are several songs on Erotica, Bedtime Stories, American Life, and Hard Candy that I don't like. It would've been nice if Ray of Light had contained the Japan bonus track "Has to Be". While looking at this set and listening to it, you can't help but feel a little disappointed that this is not a box set that contains all her studio recordings. Songs like Into the Groove, Vogue, and Crazy For You are all required in a Madonna collection, so if you are just starting, you will have to buy the Celebration cd or Immaculate Collection (or both) to fill it out. Also Something to Remember which has songs like This Used to Be My Playground and I'll Remember. Still missing are songs like Gambler and Time Stood Still. For what it is, it's good. But you will need to buy more to fill out a collection of her best songs. An official collection of her rarer songs, extended versions, and b-sides would be great to compliment this set. I wonder why none are available? There seems to be a demand for it among her fans.

Buon cofanetto Warner Records!

A Lifetime of Memories - in a box!
I would hazard a guess that, considering she has sold 300 million records worldwide, that most homes probably own at least one Madonna album. A Madonna album these days is something the youngsters jeer at, often falling over themselves with their juvenile cries of "She's an old lady! Why do people still buy her records?" Of course, she has, in her 30 year career, outlived virtually all the trendy personalities of the moment, as stars come, stars go and the whole kerfuffle of here one minute, gone the next, stardom starts all over again. What the youngsters who criticise Madonna are listening to today will be something completely different tomorrow. So, with all those stars that flickered, shone and then went out, how can anyone dare call Madonna old and question why people still buy her music. What we (kids of the 80's) were listening to way back before mobile phones, the internet, 24 hour shopping and iPods were invented, we are still listening to today! And, listen we shall. Owning a Madonna album may seem cheesy and irrelevant to the likes of Radio 1 and the nayslayers, but contained on each Madonna record is at least a handful (but very often, more) of such pure, quality, unadulterated pop masterpieces, it is easy to provide evidence as to why her records still sell. Deciding which Madonna album to own is another mystery. Like a Virgin? Like a Prayer? True Blue? What about Confessions on a Dance Floor or Ray of Light? Who can forget the controversy of a pregnant Madonna in her teens (yeah right!) parading around in that superb video to Papa Don't Preach? Or the powerful symbolism of the stigmata and burning crosses in the controversial video to Like a Prayer? I wouldn't mind betting that the first image of Madonna anyone has is of her acting all cringey in that ridiculous (but wonderful) Like a Virgin video. Lions and wedding dresses don't mix! Of course the sight of a slender Madonna doing the splits in a pink leotard as she wriggles around and bops to Hung Up is one to savour. Ridiculing asides, Madonna's career is one that has been with every person who grew up in the 80's for nearly all their lives. The recent release of Rebel Heart (her 13th album) may not be selling the amounts that her biggest hits did, but we are in a different era now. An era of downloads, short attention spans and the urgent need to text someone about someone you can't remember win a talent contest you don't particularly like! But, she still managed to get a number 2 position in both the US and UK as well as a string of number 1's elsewhere in the world. Not bad for an old lady who really shouldn't be selling records is it? So, to help you decide which Madonna album to buy, for just twenty quid, buy all of them! Well, her first eleven anyway. The albums in this box are each of her 11 Warner Bros studio albums. From "Madonna" (the album that features Holiday) to "Hard Candy" (the album that features the Justin Timberlake duet 4 Minutes), these albums are a whole lifetime of memories. Madonna's music may not be everyones cup of tea, but each time you hear one, a memory comes flooding back. Not many artists have had that much influence over all our lives for so long. Once you have these albums, you just need MDNA and Rebel Heart to keep those memories coming. And, what's great is, you can buy those two latter albums right here! MDNA Rebel Heart (Deluxe) [Explicit ] This collection really is a lifetime of memories in a box! Go on, buy it! You know you want to.
