1-Outlet Programmable Hose Faucet Timer

I have used Orbit timers for years and love the convenience. I have tried the other types of timers and returned them all due to them being too complicated to program. I am a college graduate, but I could not figure the programing out. I do not want to spend 8 hours to program a simple timer when this one works great and you can figure it out in 5 minutes. Some notes: I put new batteries in the timers every year----I own 5 Orbit timers----buy them a year in advance at the end of the summer season and save money. It has been two years and two of timers will not shut off.????? I am going to try and find another timer that works. If it lasts for ten years I will not complain-----two years?--I will complain. One note I should mention and that is install your timer on the shut off at the house. I installed mine on the hose and constant pressure enlarged the hose so bad that I had to replace them.

My wife raises bonsai plants (Japanese small live art plants) and has over a hundred of these small trees. Because they are all in small pots they must be watered daily and in hot weather perhaps even more. We had a device that fits on the outside house water faucet which use to control the time the water flowed and was shut off. However, it needed reprogramming and we had lost the instructions. I tried to reprogram it but I'm not a twelve year old anymore and just could not do the task. So I reasoned that if I bought a new one of the same company it would be easier to program. Wrong assumption. I spent over three hours trying to get the new water control system to operate correctly and failed. Very upsetting to this old guy. So I sent it back (thanks Amazon for making it easy to return things). Then browsing thought Amazon's list of other water controlling systems, I found this Orbit one for a lot less money and it said it was easy to program. So I gave it a try. It came, I inserted the batteries (2 AA) and started in. Set Time, check. When to start, got that. For how long, another check. How many days, all of them. check. Automated or stop. No I want you to run. check. I didn't at first install it on the faucet outside but left it on my desk and the next morning while checking my computer I heard this loud click and then fifteen minutes later another click. It seemed to be working so I attached it to the outside faucet and hooked on the hose to the watering sprayers among the plants. The next morning we waited until ten and I must have made a slight error because the water started spraying at 10:01 and ran for fifteen minutes. It has done this the last three days without fail. I am a happy man. I can't thank Orbit for their Orbit 24620 1-Outlet Hose Faucet Timer enough. It works! My wife's bonsai plants are very fussy and now I don't have to worry about them. And it was easy to program which made me feel good as well. So all is good with the world....at least with the bonsai plants.

I bought two of these units on June 9, 2019 based on reviews posted at that time--all of which were from recipients that received the products for free. I apparently was among the first Amazon cash buyers. Although I have a prime membership and expected second day shipment, I did not receive the first unit for about two weeks. I opened the first unit for use about three weeks ago and hold the second unit unopened in its Orbit packaging. During the past three weeks of use (intending to water two locations for one hour, every three days at a remote location. I have discovered what others are now posting. ONE PRO: The unit is capable of running a 6 hour sequence, rather than the 4 hour setting of older units. CONS: The unit is worthless. After my first week of use, I returned to find the unit reset to off, and all settings lost. I changed the batteries and reset the unit. The next day it had reset itself to off. I moved the unit to where I could readily observe it and found that it would run on manual after setting; however, in all instances it has reset to OFF and ceased watering. In addition, in one instance (this weekend) it had changed the current time from am to pm and with a 5+ hour numerical difference from the set time. I do not intend to keep the unopened unit and will ask that it be exchanged. I am confident Orbit will honor its reputation and replace both units with the older style digital units, which have worked well for me for a number of years. I will update this review after Orbit is given the opportunity to rectify its design problem. UPDATE: My first attempt to rectify my claim with Orbit led to dealing with a lady who wanted me to have the unit in hand so she could test it over the phone--IMO, an incredible request. She offered no relief, and indicated that she worked along at Orbit's fulfillment center. I brought the unit home and called again a few weeks later. This time I was assisted by a gentleman in Utah (Aaron) who was very professional, understanding, and helpful. Orbit has agreed to send me two replacements of one of the older models. Although I offered to return both units, including the unopened one, they did not require that. Suggested I could give the unopened unit away, which I will do. This latter experience showed great customer service--5 star service; however, I cannot rate the product higher than I have. Hopefully Orbit will correct the programming problems inherent with the unit that many have encountered.

Works great...if you use the right batteries. My wife had unknowingly put a couple Carbon-Zinc AAs in the thing, and all the timers moved at 60x speed! We were very confused. Then, I tried NiMH rechargables (which are 1.25v), and it would not even come on. Alkalines and lithium rechargables work great though. (There is a warning on the back, and I think in the instructions, about using the right kind of battery.) The program doesn't persist long enough during battery replacement, which will undoubtedly take longer than ten seconds for most people.

I have 4 in my yard. Easy to program. Mine have lasted 3 years. I store them in the winter and remove the batteries if you leave them out they may freeze and be damaged.

If you are looking for a timer that is simple to use and understand, this is it. The one I bought took way to much to try and figure it out. This Orbit timer is simple. Once you set up the timer it pretty much is ready to go. One push of the button for a single use of the hose or ... take a vacation and let Orbit take care of your lawn. Make sure you have good sprinklers and you're set. I'm not a paid advertiser... Just a happy customer.

This timer is connected to two drip systems and works well. I wish in manual mode that after the first system, it would go on to the second unless somehow there is a feature to halt the continuation. In regular mode, the first system is followed by the second. The times works well, but be sure to check it throughly since the first timer that I got did not work well and I had to return it. Amazon did that without incident.

I purchased this after reading reviews and was very hesitant about what to expect. This unit is very easy to program, easy to use and works like a charm! I am VERY happy with my purchase. The only thing I was disappointed in is that you cannot set both zones to come on and go off at the same time, I was hoping to conserve some water this way, other than that I couldn't recommend this more!! Buy it, you won't be disappointed. As for the bad reviews on Amazon, I can't speak to those, maybe they got faulty units, maybe it was user error, not sure. All I can say is a had zero issues with mine.

Very good for two hoses needing separate watering programs. I have a single hose timer from this company that I’ve been very happy with for over a year. This two outlet timer is terric for my other needs. The timer works perfectly. Only issue is with water leaking at the tap. The washer seems fine, but I can’t get the leak to stop.

I bought to replace my old one just a year old. This one has a faulty faucet, does not attach to the tap properly. Possibly because shipped out of US, I don’t know. so annoying.

This product has failed and I bought it on May 29th, 2025. The water does not flow once programmed and I have done multiple checks through the manual to ensure I have done set up correctly. I am not able to contact Orbit online as their customer service support is non existent to get a replacement. I am extremely disappointed with this product
