I cannot speak to the efficacy of mid to long term use and diminishing returns in that regsrd, but the first shot I took gave me noticeable results quite quickly. The taste is acceptable- especially if you dont mind red beats.

Less than wonderful taste, but preferred over Beetroot Powder options. Noticeable, but not "amazing", energy boost for several hours. I am not an athlete. I'm 82 with bad knees. More flexible, less painful joints. A tad expensive, but I'll buy more.
