works well with 1 1/4 shopvac hose
This stopped me from taping my normal shopvac hose to my bosch sander. Works well to 1 1/4 hose.

Perfect fit for: ROS20VS Bosch Orbital Sander
I know the ROS20VS is an older model but mine works great for what I do. Like others, I was also frustrated at the sheer number of adapters out there. It took awhile but my research lead me to conclude that this adapter was what I needed. I can say nothing about any other makes or models of sanders, but if you have a Bosch ROS20VS orbital sander, this one fits perfectly. It does take a bit to get it onto the sander exhaust port but not unduly so and the snug fit means it won't come off. The hose on my small Shop Vac has an inside diameter of 1.5125". The outside diameter of the adapter's end that mates with the shop vac hose measures 1.5305" at the end of the adapter and it tapers wider. The very slightly larger diameter of the adapter's business end, and its tapered design, allows me to push the shop vac hose over the adapter even though it's a bit larger than the inside diameter of the shop vac hose. I've used this several times and I've always been able to simply push/wiggle the hose onto the adapter and it stays on for the duration of the job. Some people commented on a non-smooth swivel action. Given that the hose is pretty well stuck on the adapter, and the fact that the adapter's attachment to the sander body is pretty well fixed also, I didn't expect any swivel action to begin with; not an issue with me. My complaints with Bosch: 1) this adapter is priced a bit high for what it entails 2) the sander came with a goofy twist-on "dust collector" cartridge that is practically useless. For the same amount of money, I think Bosch could have provided this adapter instead of the useless thing they gave me. Throw that thing away and get this adapter. Still, if you do very much sanding, this adapter is well worth the investment. I am surprised at how very little dust is NOT being collected by the sander now.

Does what it's supposed to
This item allowed me to connect a vacuum to my Bosch 7 1/2 miter saw and works well.

Good luck finding hoses and fittings that will work with ...
okay - there does not to be a standard with vacuum fittings. Good luck finding hoses and fittings that will work with your power tools, because all the tools are different.

It fits a Bosch GEX18V-5N Cordless
It fits the RO Sander GEX18V-5n, but very snug, I first I thought the inner diameter too small, but it really grips firmly onto and around the ridges of the tool. I assume that 35mm is standard Bosch sizing. The 1 1/4" side does not fit the Bosch Cordless Vac however. It did not friction fit a standard Shop-Vac 1 1/4" either. I need just one small wrap of electrical tape on the outer connector of the Shop Vac hose to snug it in; easy fix, but why does it NOT fit to a Bosch GAS18V-3N vacuum hose?

quality adapter
Fits the Bosch saw suction port well. Has a little play because only the rubber portion snaps into place but doesn't compromise the suction. I'm assuming it's made that way in case there is pressure put on it, it doesn't break off the port on the Miter Saw.

What is wrong with Bosch??
I've read the reviews of how frustrated people are with trying to get an adapter for a Bosch tool So I went to the Bosch website and this adapter--the VAC024--is specifically listed as working with the sander I have (Bosch ROS20VSK). Since Bosch was so clear that it was compatible, I figured it was worth the $20+ that Amazon wants for it. But...it doesn't fit! First of all, the adapter comes in two pieces, not the one piece shown here. Each one is a small plastic cylinder, which means there are 4 possible openings to fit the dust nozzle on my sander--and yet none of them fits. I ended up lining the inside of one end with some leftover adhesive-backed felt that I had in a junk drawer, to make it a tight fit over the dust nozzle on the sander. I don't understand why Bosch continues to struggle with this. I love my Bosch tools, but this is absurd.

Perfect fit, this is a hard item to locate when you don't know what to look for.
I had the adapter to my bosch vacuum for my wireless bosch vacuum, it fit the standard bosch hose and everything but even with an 8amp battery the vacuum only lasts about 45 minutes, and then you have to replace the battery. My sander last a good while, and I have 2 of them, so I could in theory do a long sanding . What I was missing is an adapter for the bosch which fit my Ridgid Wet Vac, which was significantly cheaper than the Bosch Dust Extractor. So having purchased the smaller diameter hose for my Ridgid, I now have an adapter which fits my bosch sander and I can work dustless when sanding pretty much anything. This excites me. Yay I found the right adapter.
