FG0052 Fuel Pump Module

This is a great replacement pump. I installed it 2,000 miles ago, and it is operating great. The pump itself had all the parts needed for a complete replacement, except the retaining ring. My retaining ring was in good condition so I just re-used it. The pump itself only took half an hour to install, but the removal and re-installation of the gas tank took about 7 hours. You will have to remove the tank to install this part. This type of fuel pump will always make some kind of buzzing sound when operating. However, when it gets really loud, you know that it is time to replace, before you get stranded somewhere. Installation tips: Drive the truck around, or use a pump, to empty the gas tank as much as possible. It is much easier to manipulate the tank if it is lighter. Use a floor jack to raise and lower the tank. Some people say to partially lower the tank to install this part; you will mess around with this for twice as long trying to reach up and get to parts of the tank. I strongly recommend completely removing the tank. If the fuel lines are hard to remove from the connections to the old pump, you can just break off the connectors from the old pump, as you will be throwing that whole assembly away anyways. They are hard to get to and prevent you from lowering the tank enough to allow you enough room to get to them easily. Before you remove the tank, note the possition of the straps. There are a couple of holes/slots under there that look like they can be used, when you go to re-install it. Also, note that where the rear strap secures to the frame, there is a threaded bolt welded to a clip, that can slide down along the frame when the strap is removed. Note it's original position so you can slide it back into place upon re-installation. All-in-all, not a horribly difficult installation, just make sure to be patient and devote an entire day to the repair. Well worth the savings. Repair shops gave me estimates of $800 and $900. Fixed it myself for the price of this part!

This is not a replacement part that you want to go with the cheapest one. Its a pain to replace yourself dropping the fuel tank and skid plates on a 4x4 1998 GMC Jimmy. So you want something that will last. This is a quality part and an easy installatian with basic mechanical ability. You do need to do a little rewiring but its color matching and fairly easy. Instructions are provided. Its been about 10 k miles so far and no issues.

Bought this for a 2000 bravada. Does not come with strainer and says its not needed. Comes with new flat four wiring. installed in vehicle, fuel gauge accurate and started right up.

Ordered for my 2001 Chevy Blazer. This part fixed my no-start issue, but also the faulty fuel gauge we were experiencing. Overall a great deal, since it was over $100-$150 cheaper than the local auto part stores wanted. Be prepared that you will need to replace one of the wiring connectors with their newly improved design. It isn't terribly difficult, just make sure you read the directions to get the proper wiring sequence for your vehicle, as the colors aren't a one-one match. Also, depending on the level of rust in your area, you may want a new locking ring. Mine was fairly rusty, but good enough to reuse. You can also wait and see, since this is likely an item a local parts store would stock pretty regularly. Job took around 3-4 hours working with another (experienced) guy in a nicely equipped shop. Make sure you empty the tank as much as possible before starting, it gets heavy!

Perfect replacement for my 99 blazer LT. Much cheaper than what you can get it for at local parts store. Ordered it through Amazon prime, a little more than other sellers ($149) but quick shipping and better peace of mind. Does not come with fuel line clips, either reuse old ones or order new ones. also does not come with retaining ring. Mine was a garage kept southern truck so my old one was fine. If you live somewhere with snow and ice and salt, you probably will need to replace yours. My original pump went out at 144,000 miles. Don't mess with the cheap fuel pumps, you will not want to do this job again in a year or 2. If everything comes apart like it is supposed to, this is a fairly easy job. Just put rear wheels on jack stands, remove spare to give yourself plenty of room, remove 2 electrical connectors, 2 fuel hoses in back and one in front of tank, disconnect 2 straps that hold it in place, once tank out of way replace 1 of the electrical connectors (everything included), then put everything back together. Not as bad as I thought. Do yourself a favor and siphon gas out after you get main filler hose off, tank is very light when empty. Also change fuel filter while your at it.

This purchase was for a 1999 Chev s-10 blazer, I researched the repair on u-tube and found some good videos as I've' never removed the tank on an suv. The Delphi FG0052 fuel pump was a little more expensive but from all the reviews I decided to take the advise most were giving as to quality over cheaper models. The installation took almost 4 hrs, my son had to help lower and raise tank back in position. The front tak strap bolt nearly stripped with a 6pt 5/8 deep well, Had a 19/32 that fit perfectly that I found in the tools my dad left me.The new fuel pump was a easy install, I soaked the metal ring plate overnight with WD-40 wasn't difficult at all to get off! The pump came in a well packed box and is better Quality looking and all than the OEM pump taken off! Wiring was a breeze, just follow the instructions supplied with pump and anyone can do it. I saved about $300 or more doing it myself I also bought a new retaining ring for $17 on Amazon and glad I did, The old one was pretty rusty, it could have been reused but for the price I just replaced. After install We just turned the key to on, 3 or 4 times then it started right up and has for a week now. Vey pleased with results and I'm giving a 5 star rating as the delivery time took only 3 days!
