Make sure your filter is powerful enough
Works good. But you need a strong filter for it. So, if you plan on getting it, upgrade to a better filter if you are using one of those flow clear or something. At least 2,000 would be my guess. I hooked it to 2,500.

Great Upgrade for Intex Pool
I bought this skimmer kit for my Intex 18ftx9ftx52in Ultra XTR Pool Kit. I did not like how this pool had two under water inlets for the filter pump and no surface skimmer intake. I was having to net out a lot of surface debris like bugs and leaves that the under water inlets would not pull in. So I eliminated one of the under water inlets and plumbed that line to this skimmer and there has been a huge improvement. The basket was full of water beetles and leaves/debris within the first couple hours of running. Fairly easy to install, just take your time and double check everything before cutting a fairly large rectangular hole in your pool liner! There are some good youtube installation videos out there that are a big help if you watch first. I am also impressed with the overall quality/build of this kit. Hopefully it holds up in the harsh environment of sunlight and chlorine, time will tell...

Works as a Skimmer just fine. The added water leveler is another story
Skimmer works great as a skimmer but the pool water leveler can use some work. You have to basically have the water on drip for it not to shut off. Anything higher and it will run for an actual second or two and then stop. Wait for the water in the chamber to lower and do it all over again. It will continue to cycle like that over and over unless you turn the water down so low that it is barely coming out. On the plus side of that, if the float breaks you probably won't waste too much water before you catch that it's not stopping. To me the feature isn't worth the price

Hydrotools Wall Skimmer is the WORST don’t waste Your Money
I really never do this but I am today so No One can spend there money on purchasing this wall skimmer. I give this hydrotools wall skimmer A 1 star and that’s because I had to give it something kind of rating but I wish I didn’t have to give it anything because this is the worst wall skimmer ever we installed the skimmer and did everything it asked step by step and it still leaks not only from the wall of the skimmer but also from the adapter that it comes with we even put teflon tape around the adapter it comes with and it still leaks I’m so upset that I even purchased this wall skimmer I wanna return it but dnt know if I can do so do to us installing it and putting silicone around it to see if it would help to STOP the leak but no that didn’t even help!!

FINALLY!!!!!
Finally a great skimmer PLUS an automatic water level attachment!!! Where I live in NC the evaporation in the summer is terrible!!! I honestly thought a few years ago I had a leak in the liner of my pool. But the local pool supply told me to take a bucket fill about half to three quarters full. Leave it for a day or two. Then see how much water evaporated. And WOW!!! It was crazy. It had lost a third of the water in 2 full days. So yes, keeping the water level maintained without doing it everyday manually was a great idea!!!! I had used a float device i had got for an animal watering bucket (float goes down as they drink it. When it does it opens a valve up, fills the bowl up, and closes off the water valve when its full) but funding a way to mount it and all was a pain. This is great!! Only suggestion I have is, make it so a hose pipe will screw straight on the water level side. I have to go find special fittings to finish hooking mine up to my hose pipe, I assumed a standard hose would hook up. That's the only complaint
