A Dish Rack for the Ages
I shopped around for dish racks - yes, I actually shopped around for a dish rack. I know, I question myself sometimes as well. But I digress... It's a bit pricier than the other ones but you get what you pay for. With the OXO brand it's usually some pretty good quality, excellent design and items that last. We wanted a rust-free, easy to clean, easy to store dish rack that was able to accommodate pots, pans and cutting boards more than dishes and that's exactly what we got. LOVE this rack. It adjusts making it really easy to hold everything. The only chrome is the handle and ours never gets wet because of the design. Genius. But that's OXO! The little drain flap in the front is great. The back has two little legs that pop down so you can place the rack on a slight angle allowing the water to run out the drain in front right into the sink. Close the flap if you don't require drainage. Haven't had any issues with water under the unit so no leaking! That's always a plus. It sits directly on our counters without a tray under it. One less thing to worry about! The two utensil holders pop right out so you can put larger items in the rack. This also makes them super easy to clean. The dish holder folds flat making even more room for larger items. So awesome! You can even fold the whole unit up and stow it away if need be. This is great when you need the extra counter space for other things. It's not super compact like the less expensive chrome and bamboo folding racks but it makes up for that in so many other ways, like not rusting or getting moldy. It's a pretty slick drying rack. I would highly recommend this to anyone who lives tiny, uses pots, pans, and larger cooking items often (more often than you run your dishwasher and/or for items not dishwasher friendly), and anyone who wants something that will last. I'm tired of living in a disposable society. I like that this rack is quality. You can see and feel that it is well made and very sturdy. I forgot to add: Yes the instructions recommend a very logical weekly cleaning. It's not hard to do. I don't even move it from it's spot on the counter. Just take the sprayer from the sink, give it a good spray, wipe it down with a clean soapy sponge, spray again, drain directly into sink through drain hole. Takes me 2 mins. Regardless of what dish rack I'm using, I would clean it anyway because a) It's a kitchen item that gets wet and slowly drip dries and b) It holds clean kitchen items you will eventually most likely eat off of. You should clean all of your dish drying racks regardless of material. Just like you should wipe down your phone - it's common sense.

Excellent Solution for Small Space
Changed my kitchen reality immediately. I live in a place with a ridiculously small amount of counter space, but even if I had space, I would adore this drainer. First, I am a dish stacker - more like heaper. I have no dish washer, and I hate drying dishes with a cloth which means I like to get as many dishes piled up as possible to air dry. Though it did not seem like it would be because it does not sit flat on the counter, this drainer is VERY sturdy. It has solid metal legs and a thick plastic drain pan that holds a lot of dishes without any bowing. Second, It is so easy to fold this up and reconfigure it either to move it out of the way or to rearrange it to fit your dishes. I love that feature! Third, no standing water in the drainer! It sits at slight angle so that the water drains out perfectly. I saw in some of the reviews that people had trouble with leaking from the back of the drainage spout. I was so intrigued by the other features that I though it was worth the risk of purchasing anyway. When I got it and set it up, I immediately put a paper towel down under the drainer and poured two liters of water into the drain pan to see if this would be an issue. The paper towel was absolutely dry, so the one I got does not seem to have this flaw. Maybe over time, the space widens and causes problems, but for me it will not matter anyway as I have it slid far enough over my sink that it would just drain into the sink anyway. This is one of the best home purchases that I have made in awhile. It is so much better than my old one that at this point it actually makes me happy to do dishes because I love using it so much. I know that will fade over time - but beautiful honeymoon anyway!

New and improved design
We use our dish rack for things that don't fit or cannot be put into the dishwasher and as I do cook and bake we needed a larger one. I came to find they no longer make the traditional type i.e.plastic or rubber coated basket that sits atop a drain tray, that is the larger size or is still relatively sturdy. I was forced to look around. This non-traditional dish rack is about the same size as my older model that needed replaced. It is, however, different in design. First off your dishes(except for utensils and plates if you use the fold-up or down plate rack) sit ON the drain tray. So their very bottom may stay a bit wetter. Also there is no exterior line of wires for glasses that used to hang over the sink. They fit over vertical pegs and take up some of the space in this tray. Since the sides of this are lower your stacking within the tray must be be arranged so they will stay within the lower sides. The utensil rack is sturdier and more roomy than my old basket's little container, and these lift out so you can carry them to the drawer where you stash your silverware and then return them to the rack. The drain rack sits in a stainless steel trivet and you prop up one end on fold away legs so that it will drain toward your sink. I admit it drains better than my old style basket but does have some design flaws. The drain hole is small and can be plugged by folding up a tab. Thus the hole will need monitoring to be sure it doesn't plug up. Also, because this is square ended and the drain hole is centered on that end, some water may accumulate at the outsides of the downhill end. Still this is an improvement on any drain tray I have previously owned. The whole thing does fold relatively flat so it can be stashed under your sink and hidden away when not in use. So far, I recommend this product as an improvement from old style drain racks with a separate tray. It will take getting used to.

Great rack! (No not hers ha jk)
I wasnt paying real close attention i thought this was a white rack but its actually grey. Which is ok it still goes well with my kitchen. Its a really great dish rack it holds alot and looks good. It doesnt drain well unless you tilt it which doesnt earn it 5 stars... but its not a big bother to me. I have to also recomed these other products with it as i really love my 3 combo configuration. This dish rack is sitting on top of a silicon xxxl drying mat which allows me to have a place to put the cutting boards and my daughters high chair tray. I also love OXO Good Grips Convertible Foldaway Dish Rack. Its a simple stainless steal rack that can lay over the sink and rolls up to store to the side. I have used this for so many things like an extra dish drying mat for large pots and other things, to wash produce on, and to place hot things on like a big pot of hot rice. Its all made cleaning up and storing easier.

I really like this drainer
I really like this drainer. I have wooden countertops that I don't want to get too wet and have been fighting a battle to find something to stack dishes that doesn't leave water pooling in a tray ready to tip onto the countertop. Given what humans can design, it is strange to me that almost everyone else is making different versions of the same kind of drainer - nobody else has thought to tilt their drainer properly and then add a spout. Why don't normal drainer trays with lips have legs at the back to tilt them? Anyway I am happy that Oxo has been more intelligent and found a new solution. The rack is mostly plastic but very sturdy - it feels like very high quality plastic (this is an early review, but I hope I won't need to update that point!). I really like that the water is contained in the high-sided unit before draining through the small spout without the need for a separate drip tray. Things dry slightly less quickly without the normal air-circulation of more open wire/metal racks and it might take a bit more work cleaning long term, but the trade-off of dry countertops is well worth it. I love the long spout which directs drain water precisely into the sink without having to hang the unit over the sink edge. No more water accidents on the counter because a drip tray - with a wide, hard -to-see lip - was placed slightly wrongly. I do like the fold-down plate rack - folding it down enables you to make alot more room if you are drying items other than plates and the rack is robust and tall so plates sit very securely. I like the plastic cutlery holders - that there are two sets of them and that they fix firmly on the tray - so many other types fall over as more goes in them. These cutlery racks seem robust - I have only just got this unit, so time will tell, but I am hopeful. They could be a bit touch taller to make tall utensils seem more secure, but so far nothing has fallen out. The unit is a bit costly (but seems very well-made) and I wish the outer spikes for glasses were either a little thinner or ( better since thinner ones might break) that there fewer of them so that they can be used more easily - but these are minor points. Really like this drainer - well done Oxo for finding a better solution to drying dishes.

Best design ever
This is the best dish rack I've ever used. It is self contained, collapsible and compact. It's the best addition to my kitchen and the foldaway style gives me more counterspace for meal prep.

Well made
Great drying rack. Not huge, but good for 2person household. This is a replacement for one I used daily for 12 years

Oxo drops the ball
I generally like Oxo products and I like that they are design conscious. I hope they read this. Here is what is good: it looks very nice and functions well as a dish rack. The size and layout are good. We have no need or desire to fold it up when not in use so I can't speak to that function. (Anyway, who wants to fold up their dish rack every day and put it beneath the sink? And when would you do that? The only time it doesn't have dishes on it is after I clear it and right before I put wet ones on it.) Here is what is lame. 1) The instructions say the main part of it cannot go in the dishwasher. That would have been nice - we have a dishwasher as well, and use this in addition, and it would be nice to stick it in the dishwasher now and again because we all know dish racks get grimy after a while. So that seems short sighted on Oxo's part. 2) This second complaint is my biggest complaint. The little drain thing leaks a bit onto the countertop. It would have been soooo easy to design this so it would not. If the little flippy thing were just 2 mm closer to the rack when flipped down, this problem is solved. I can't believe they put out a product with this flaw. Most of the water does drain properly, but some does not. And it is not operator error. So Oxo, if you are listening, I suggest you correct this. Thanks!

BEST Drainer I Have Ever Owned
Replaced a modern nordic looking drainer that had no drain outlet with this low modern design. Has 2 pull out Back feet to aid draining angle & a pull out drain plug for over sink . Works perfectly & you can fit a big wash-up in the body. Very easy to clean over if you want to. Have had 3 drainers over 5 years & the others had lots of useful accessories like wine glass drainers, however the drainage systems & inside surfaces constantly became gluggy & needed constant attention.

Very misleading product photos
The build quality is good, but you must know that it is VERY gray and not white and a little gray like in the photo. The other misleading thing is that it cannot stand up by itself on the side, though it can fold and lean. I found it unattractive and cumbersome, and the product seller was reluctant to allow a return. I had to throw it away.

Space doesnt work for most items
The cup holders dont have enough space around them to fit a normal cup, the plate ridges are too fat to fit anything other than a straight plate (cannot fit a pan). When the rack is leaning (using the little legs in the back) it doesnt push the water out of the bottom and the water ends up staying on the board for a couple of days till it dries up. Would not recommend this, although OXO generally have great products, just not this one.
