Best value I've found.
I am very happy with my purchase! The wood looks great and high quality. All the pieces went together very smoothly and easily with very little work. The frames, like always are the more difficult to assemble. But with the included nails, it wasn't bad at all. The wood took very well to my primer before painting. The frame foundation's look to be good quality and I love that they included yellow for the honey super and black for the brood box. The black makes it so much easier to see eggs laid inside. Probably the best part though is the price. Prices for wooden hives have sky rocketed and this hive kit has the best price and value. They even include a couple extras like a queen excluder, one way entrance blocker and a metal entrance blocker/queen excluder. I would highly recommend this kit to beginners and veteran bee keepers alike! I'll be buying more soon!

fantastic kit
Came with everything you need (as far as I know). I'm am a super-new-bee (see what I did there?) -- I got two of these. They were a crazy easy to assemble, assuming you know a little bit about woodworking. You do need to assemble everything, including the frames, but it's very easy. I didn't even bother with the directions, it was so strait-forward. I dry fitted the connections and some of the joints needed a little filing; no big. I used wood glue then drilled pilot holes for the nails. It's a great way to learn about hives and hive construction, especially for a new person. With all the multiple pieces-parts in the kit, not a thing was missing (nothing more frustrating than missing a couple of parts, right?). I just painted them this weekend, which was almost a shame because the wood is gorgeous. Great quality as far as I can tell, especially for the price -- wow, the shipping alone should have cost what this entire kit costs... (don't tell them that). I'm looking forward to purchasing two more very soon...

good price, good hive
I found the hive easy to put together. The dovetails were perfect on my hive, once I lined up the sides correctly they fit great. The brood/super frames would come apart under their own weight, so I added wood glue and will nail those together. The package did come with nails as of 04/2021. The directions aren't super detailed but I found them fine. (It was my first time putting one together.) I am happy overall with my hive. The wood smells glorious, no splinters, and fits together nicely.

A great hive
Everything was good until I went out to check on my Bee's. Oklahoma has some bad humidity at times but after a month of this being assembled the top is separating from the boards that keep it locked to the hive. I still believe it's a great hive just going to require more work to keep it together.

Good quality
This is my first beehive and I really like it. Very easy to assemble. Look at how the joints slip together before trying to pound them together. I added glue to each joint for added joint strength. A simple solution for adding the nails is to drill a small pilot hole before pounding your nails. No wood splitting and went together nicely. Just take your time and use common sense when assembling. Very happy and cant wait to add my package of bees next spring. Will definitely buy another but will buy the 10 frame next time.

Disappointed - Updated
It arrived with incomplete or partially missing product list and missing pieces. I've put hive boxes together before so missing instructions aren't necessarily a cause for panic, but the pieces that were missing are. There were enough parts to put the frames for the super together but not the brood box. The 16 brood frame sides were not included so I can't put the frames together and therefore can't use the hive. The brood frame tops, bottoms, and foundations were received, but are useless without the sides. I can't do anything with this. The boxes went together OK. I definitely recommend using wood glue with the nails. The wood used is very weak/fragile. It reminded me of making planes out of balsa wood when I was a kid so I don't believe it will survive too many Texas seasons. I'm going to paint mine with a good exterior house paint if I ever get the missing parts of the brood box. The nails that came with it are good but you have to be very careful they stay straight or they'll take out a chunk of the box wall. I am very unhappy with this purchase. I will probably think twice, double check, then think twice again, before purchasing anything from this vendor. Update: Their customer service department was very responsive and supplied the missing parts within weeks of my request. The rest of my review stands.

quality
received my bee hive today around 3:00 pm and had it together in less than a couple hours would have been quicker but I pre drilled for the nails so not to crack the wood and glued the joints and took a few breaks since the temperture was 91 today and i am really satisfied with the hive no problems assembling the hive at all, I have read others complain about the directions well they are pretty correct the directions are not much but i am a experienced wood worker so no problem had a couple pieces that I really didn't know what they were for but googled it and its a slide to keep mice out who would have known, when I need another will purchase from this company again
