How do you know when it’s fully charged?

Once the device is on, short press the power button. The lights blink red in to tell you how charged. 4 blinks means the battery is full.

Brand new and fully charged - yet, blue lights are flashing on all the buttons accross the top when listening to a book. How can I make it stop?
