Forum Novelties 63503 Amazing Gag Shock Lighter

After reading the critical reviews about it looking fake and feeling flimsy, I bought it anyway because it was low priced and shipped free; gotta love Amazon Prime. That first time, holding it after removing it from the packaging, placing thumb to striker, slowly pressing down... ZZZING!!! Must have tossed it five feet!! As for looking fake? To me it appears just another cheap disposable lighter trying to look fancy and failing. Perfect! As for being flimsy, well, maybe repeatedly dropping it on hardwood or marble floors wont be very good for it, duh.

This little "Trick ZAP Lighter was nothing more than a waste of my time and money. First off it came disassembled in a small package and on first inspection realized that the tiny batteries were so old that something oozed out of one and I just decided it wasn't worth it and tossed it all in the trash

Great gag gift

This product didn't work at first. We opened it to try replacing the batteries which were advertised as either AA or AAA, but were actually button cell batteries which I did not have on hand...so we tried reversing the batteries and it worked. It also was not so easy to open. But once we got it working it is a fun cheap gag item.

This is a a gag that can really get you in trouble,when someone suffering from an acute nicotine fit,is seeking an immediate puff of their unlit cig,and they anxiously attempt to light-up,only to receive a hefty JOLT on their thumb!! Trust me,they will NOT see the humor in this gag!! First time I used this gag on someone in 2002,I almost found myself in an impromptu fracas!! Dude was like:Now THAT (stuff)wasn't funny man!! I want to SMOKE,not play no(doggone)GAMES!! Why are you smiling?!? You think this (stuff)is FUNNY huh?!? Needless to say;use this on family and friends,not people on the street who walk-up and ask you for a lighter!! Nevertheless this gag is a RIOT,as no one expects to experience LITERAL shock-therapy to curb their smoking addiction!!! For the nonsmokers in my life,I carry with me a cupcake with a candle stuck in it,and ask them to light my birthday-cupcake candle for me!! Well hey nobody ever noted me for my maturity!! Keep your camera-phone handy,because the look of astonishment,on a victims face is PRICELESS after they flick THIS Bic!!

Order this lighter just to have some fun with, it was fun for about 1/2 an hour. After the 6th person I tried to shock it did not work anymore. I don't know if something inside of it is broken because I can not take it apart to fix it, but I wish it lasted a little longer cause it was getting lots of laughs.

Product lasted a good amount of time and still works. It felt hallow in the hand as if there is nothing or hardly anything the inside of it. Its hard plastic but not heavy. No heavy material in the inside so it's lightweight. I took it apart and put it back together which is how I know. (vouch for it) Some people won't be fool. It only make sense if someone need a quick light and you were to hand this to the person on impulse. They would most likely press down the the trigger on impulse. A bit difficult to just hand to someone and they don't smoke- "here, press this lighter... It has a big FLAME!" :-/" Anyways- I don't live by many smokers but I used it on one of them and he was pissed. I think he would of rode me over with his bike if he had a chance. Told em is a start to stop smoking. Shock some sense into you. He said he was using a patch and the gum so it's a start. (sparks a conversation to stop smoking, if the person doesn't hate you for doing it; groups of friend with the same motive as you is a must at times.)

My son has smoked for quite awhile now. Over the years, he had shown me his various lighters. I saw these and wanted to personally give them to him and watch the fun begin. Unfortunately, I missed his shocking experience, but I gave him many days of shocking fun with his friends. Remember to purchase more than one lighter. I purchased two lighters for him. I knew it would happen sooner or later. One of his buddies would borrow the lighter so he could shock his friends...and forget to return it Sean. While at a party, place the lighter beside the ashtray and watch the fun begin. I also keep a shocking flashlight and shock pens that write, nearby to jump start my friends.
