Saving Jaws DVD

I think Ocean's heart is in the right place, but
the hypocrisy for social media views is mind-boggling.First off, shark finning alone is NOT what is going to kill off the sharks. Shark finning is the least of real conservationists' worry's. Over fishing and bi-catch is what is killing off the deep ocean shark species by the tens of millions. However, it's hard to prove that because fisherman are not going to let you aboard t he boat to watch what they pull in. Ocean and her little crew needed something they can show on camera, and going around nice vacation hotspots and speaking to people while handing out sheets to restaurants written in Chinese is a great way to show your love and concern while working on your tan.Ocean and her crew have been out to whale carcasses and within a few days have drawn hundreds of people to their location because people are curious by nature, and will follow a boat filled with cameras and crew and a beautiful blonde woman that looks like a model. It is highly counter-productive, especially when these people see her out there touching the sharks and claiming the sharks are sizing her up not because sharks size up something before they deem it a threat, but because it's a spiritual one-ness with nature. Puh-lease. Every single Great White shark she has filmed herself diving with was STUFFED with whale meat! She never swims with Bull Sharks because they will eat her in a matter of minutes and they are very unpredictable. Tiger sharks are mostly docile, yes. They are very purposeful in their feeding and stalking is why. My friend from High School had his daughter killed by 2 tiger sharks in the Bahamas in 2019 and they are relentless, but slow and easy to ward off if you see them in time.My point is, she is showing people the wrong things, and telling them something different. Someone is going to get hurt one day from watching her, and if she isn't careful, it might be one of her crew or Ocean herself.I give it 3 stars for the beautiful photography and filming visuals. I only give it 3 stars because it is a real scientists nightmare to have someone like her roaming around the seas and touching Great White sharks.

Good documentary but needs sexual content advisory
It’s a good documentary and I enjoyed watching it with my daughter. We had a good discussion about conservation and over fishing.Be aware in the beginning of the documentary they recap movies that have worked to skew humanity towards fearing sharks. This is where the gratuitous violence is shown. In this section there is also a scene where a young woman starts stripping her clothes off to entice a man. They obviously don’t show enough to change the rating, but it’s quite unnecessary for a shark documentary and there was no sexual situation/content advisory listed. I just fast forwarded past it as soon as I realized what it was.If you’re watching this with kids, you can really skip that whole opening part of recapping shark movies and go straight to the part where they’re walking the streets of Hong Kong.

I am glad they are doing this!
I loved the movie Jaws, but unlike some people I realize it is just a movie. Sharks being slaughter for their fins is just so cruel and aweful. I thank these people for doing their best!

Enlightening+Breathtaking
This documentary was profoundly moving on so many levels. Be prepared to shed some tears. Never before have I seen sharks with such clear and educated eyes. So deserving of recognition, they have been around longer than dinosaurs and even longer than trees! Graceful, magnificent, beautiful, soulful, intelligent are all words to describe these apex predators.Ocean and Juan are changing the game in how the world sees these creatures. The whole earth needs sharks in order to maintain the health of the ocean and therefore the health of our blue planet.Knowing and living her purpose Ocean is making life better for all of us- sharks and humans alike.

Amazing people who swim with sharks!
This is an amazing and very important dvd everyone should see! These people truly care about saving sharks and respect them, and have an amazing ability/gift....-to swim along side huge sharks...-with no oxygen tank or cage—nothing! It’s truly fascinating! They also inform and show us what is happening in other countries-who are killing millions of sharks every year -all for “shark fin soup.” It makes me cry...to know what people are doing to sharks...and I’m so thankful some truly care...to shed light and speak up, to make people aware of what is really happening. I hope they will succeed in stopping this Wrong -because if the oceans don’t have sharks anymore—it will effect and destroy everything else in the ocean too. Everything works together and was created for a reason and is needed... God bless you for your great work, and I pray -May The Lord protect you -always—as you swim in the ocean!!

We all need to save the sharks!
our family watched this last night. It is a "must-see"! Not only is it informative, in an easy to understand way, but it is interesting, and absolutely beautiful. It is not over dramatic, or alarmist, but it drives home the urgency to "save the sharks". Although, the message is urgent, and the subject matter is brutal, the cinematography is serene and mesmerizing, the dialogue is quiet, yet pointed, but always respectful. The people are likeable and authentic. There are scenes that I thought might get TOO graphic for my 7 year old, but they show just enough, and then change the scene. My 7 year-old wants to know what he can do. He got the point, and understands how important this is. We started by supporting US Legislation to ban shark fin trade. Some of my generation will appreciate the "nod" to "the previous generation" when they mention the humpback whales and how OUR efforts really DID make a difference, and we did in fact, "Save the Whales"!We have one world, and it is so incredible and beautiful, we need to "save" it.

Sehr empfehlenswert!
