Sportube Series 1 Ski Case – Protective Travel Case for One Pair of Alpine Skis and Gear or Two Pairs of Nordic Skis and Gear

Very good protection for pair of skis and poles. Easy to transport-wheels on bottom helpful, and detachable handle. Took it on plane on the way out west,able to navigate a ski backpack, rolling carry on and the ski box myself. shipped back home through UPS. Very sturdy. I have a 2 ski box as well. There is a pin that keeps the 2 pieces together and will stay in place but someone can easily unhook and remove it. This happened with shipping the 2 ski box and I bought a replacement pin at hardwear store but it did not fit. So for the new 1 ski box I just got, I wanted to make sure that the pin did not get lost so I was able to attach a TSA lock through the pin. Would not want to use only the little TSA lock since it might not be strong enough to hold the 2 halves together. Note that once you get the skis and poles in the box, the 2 halves do not come apart easily due to ski brakes, so pin coming out may not cause the whole thing to fall apart. When I picked up the 2 ski box from shipping place, pin was missing but it did not appear to have come apart

Protected my skis on a flight to Park City. The hard-shell gave me the piece of mind. A few notes that I liked about the product: - Nothing bumps around - there are two pieces of foam at either end that keep the skis from bumping around in the interior. - Fits my skis and my poles snugly - The length of the tubes are adjustable, so it only takes up as much room as necessary (whereas the softer cases are only one size) - Wheels do make it easy to shuttle around the airport, but the handles are great to just carry in a balanced manner or quickly maneuver it vertically so you can take it up / down the escalator

Holes don't line up. Can't put the skis in stacked. Need to rubber band down the bindings, therefore can't use it for storage in the off season. Wish I had bought a soft padded wheeled case instead. Updated: I used this case for travel on 5 ski trips now. Skis are well protected, and the bright orange case makes it so easy to find at the airport. It's easy to maneuver at the airport and from the car to the lodge. I wasn't initially happy with the purchase because I couldn't use it for storage and have to bind the breaks for the skis to fit, but after using it a few times I realize that I really like the case. The cons are that you can't put anything else in the tube like you do with the padded cases, but I think it's ok.

Sturdy! Compact! Lightweight! Extendable! I do not ski or snowboard, but I was in need for a case to carry my camera & light tripod. I was worried when my tripod was taller then the shipping box. WOW! Opened the Amazon box, looked over this case, extended the case, more than enough length. Shoved my tripod into the single tube, slide the two halves together. Tripod was secure, added a little foam to stop the shifting from side to side. I’m super duper pleased with this case. Easy to carry with the handles or pull it on its wheels, no shoulder strap. My equipment is secure and ready to travel.

So, I finally got tired of paying equipment rental fees on every skiing trip I went having a pair of my own skis gathering dust in storage. You'll save approximately $100 a week in fees by bringing your own stuff. They only other choice is whether you want a soft case or a hard case (this product). IMHO, the only reason to go for soft case is to save on weight, because that's the only thing airlines will limit (and charge for excess) in ski equipment. Sportube has several key advantages. Unlike what some people wrote, I was able to fit my ski pants, hat, and goggles in the case, besides skis & poles. The case is telescoping, so you can leave as much free space as you like at either end for you stuff. ;) Also, I was able to fit a couple of wine bottles between the skis themselves. This case has wheels and detachable pulling handle for easy transporting around. It can also be mounted on top of your car provided that you have cross bars and straps to secure it. There are several things you have to be aware of when you buy this case. First, as it was mentioned before, it will not fit through the trunk access hole in sedans. You need split folding seats. Also, purchase one of these locks for travel: Master Lock 4688DRED TSA Accepted Cable Luggage Lock, Red . So far I made two trips with the case and both times TSA opened a case on the way there AND back and left me a note inside. It's a TSA magnet for sure.

Works great but I have a couple of things to mention. The holes ( two ) on the half that the smaller half slides into were not spaced the same distance as the numerous holes on smaller half for length varience. I wanted to double secure the tube with a TSA lock in through one set of holes and the wire type device supplied with this product through what I thought would have been 2nd set of holes from both halves aligned. Since one set of holes aligned therefore other set of holes should be aligned. As I said holes, (two ) on 'larger half' were not drilled with same spacing as holes on smaller half. The case still worked though. I will probably drill second set of holes myself. Also when inserting a lock or the supplied wire closure device, (which is nice by the way) make sure you press down on top of outer half to get both inner and outer holes completely aligned. To me making sure both sets are aligned is most important. I tilted the case to 'look through holes' to insure alignment. In all this is a good product. Skis arrived intact and its great peace of mind knowing skis are safe'. They should make this with a clear plastic then TSA could see insides and not have to open case.

Got charged a restocking fee of almost 50 %. Paid almost $170 and got back $90. Yes I used the item and made it work for a trip since I ordered it last minute but you can see in the photos that the holes did not align. Therefore, I had to use a drill to open up the space more. Even then it was still difficult to get the pin in. Took 2 persons to do. I would have kept the item had it been made correctly. Heck I would have kept it had I known about a 50% restocking fee. Ridiculous that a company would make something defective then throw the blame on the customer. I planned on purchasing another one to see if they would make it right later but not anymore.

LOVE this - really love it. Best way of transporting skis ever. Robust, adapts to the length of the ski, light and easy to handle even with the skis inside. Comes with nice solid clip-on handle that you can quickly remove at check in. Love my skis and was not one bit worried about them inside this case. Noticed envious looks from skiers with larger cumbersome bags as we traveled through the airport. Did not buy the lock that is sold with the case because it did not get good reviews. Instead bought a long hasp combination padlock from the local hardware store and this works perfectly. If you travel with skis buy this - it will make your life easier. Would definitely buy again.

Alles super, super stabil, gute Qualität, genau wie ich es mir vorgestellt hatte, musste leider zurück weil für mein gebrauch war Series 1 zu schmal ,habe zurück geschickt aber gleich Sportube Series 2 bestellt, Ich habe es für Spearfishing geholt, auf jeden fall eine kauf Empfehlung.
