Old Days.
My sister recently found a few slide carousels in our folks garage from the 60's. We were just kids then. We looked at some of them holding them up to the light. We couldn't find the projector. It was an annual family event through the years to go through the slides. My family moved a lot and vacationed a good bit so there slides from all over the country. Sometime in the late 70's the sessions ended has siblings went off to college or got married.I thought it would be great fun to be able to relive those times and for her 54th birthday. I planned a surprise party for the whole family and you guessed it - bought one of these projectors! The 4200 came in excellent packaging and seemed brand new. This was probably one of the latest models and most likely used in a corporate environment as it was in mint condition. We had such a blast that night watching the slides and trying to guess all the places and people in the slides.About Kodak slides... We were blown away at the Ectachrome and Kodachrome quality even after 50 years. The colors and (natural) bouquet effects are something we just don't see much of in today's digital world. We know we have many more boxes of slides and we've been on a mission to find them in my parents house for our next gathering. If you have old slides you have seen in years and have a chance to get everyone together this is a wonderful party favorite!

As advertised, it is a 1980s vintage Kodak Carousel 4200
Note that my rating is for the projector as a projector. It does exactly what it is designed to do, it just has some shortcomings. In particular, the 4200 doesn't autofocus. It is not designed to. More advanced (and expensive) models do. On the other hand, you load up your slides, turn on the projector, adjust the focus and away you go...as expected and advertised. Nothing fancy. As for value, given what it does, it's expensive. I assessed value as performance per dollar. It cost a lot for not a lot of performance, hence 3 stars. There is another aspect to value though, availability. In 2020, if you have slides, and want to project them, then old legacy Kodak projectors are realistically, the only game in town. They aren't made anymore and there aren't a lot around. I know because I spent a lot of time on Craigslist trying to find one. Finally, I got mine from Slide Central. Kodak slide projectors is what they do and they do it well. Although the projector was no longer in the original box, it was new, came with a tray, remote, spare lamp and lens. It was solidly packed for shipping and arrived undamaged. I would not hesitate to buy from them again.

Great product, great service
I purchased a Kodak Carousel slide projector from this vendor and was thrilled to see slides of my parents and our family over a period of five decades that included our travels, family get-together's, celebrations, etc. My brothers and I have recently lost our parents and being able to go through the times of all of our lives has been bittersweet and wonderful. My siblings and I are in our 70's and we had never seen some of the slides before. What a treat. Thank you for the prompt service, superior packing and the personal note that was included in the box. I'm truly grateful.Leslie Drivon

Mint condition and works perfectly.
My parents and grandparents left me 31 carousels of slides. Their projector died in the ‘80s. Seeing them now, on a nostalgic, but perfect projector just makes it cooler. So happy I bought this instead of converting to digital or disc. And much less expensive.

Very satisfied with purchase
Ordered the Kodak carousel slide projector. It arrived within time stated. It was packaged very well - not original packaging, but reboxed. It was clean and worked well. I was able to use it immediately and watched slides with my mom that she had not been able to watch for a while. It was a wonderful afternoon and she has continued to use it. Appreciated the contact information included in case there were any issues.

Remote Reverse does NOT work
The seller said the product was refurbished/repaired/serviced and tested by individuals with 20 yrs experience. When I received the projector, all works fine, EXCEPT the remote does NOT reverse the side tray. It is hard to believe this was tested and somehow during shipping, this happened. The remote for forward advancement does work, but reverse DOES NOT work. This is disappointing when I paid over $300 for this item!
