Does what you need it to do.
I ordered this armband while I was training for a half marathon. I used an app on my phone to track my distance and time so I needed somewhere to put my M8. My pocket wasn't an option due to the amount of bouncing my phone was doing while I ran.The armband is a decent armband. It has two slots to accommodate different arm sizes, which is good. There's a port hole on the bottom of the band to allow for headphones to be plugged in. The plastic on the front is clear and it's still possible to use the touch screen of your m8 through the plastic, even though it's not the easiest to do while running. The only complaint I have about the armband is that it's not waterproof. I must have read the description wrong when I ordered this armband, because I thought it was. It became an issue for me, since I would have to take my phone out of the armband towards the end of my long runs to avoid it getting wet. I didn't want to have to pay the deductible to get a new phone because my M8 had water damage..So if you're planning on working out doing something that wont cause you to be too sweaty, then get this armband. Other than the moisture factor, this armband was a great buy for me! I would recommend it.

is the maddening flaw that keeps from giving this product a better rating.
Fits my arm and fits the phone. Those who say the armband is too small or too big either have freakishly sized arms, or didn't read the instructions for adjusting the armband. Unfortunately there's a thick flap at the top of the case that makes it nearly impossible to hit the power/wake button on the first try. Not only does it make the button hard to find, but it greatly increases the amount of pressure necessary to activate it. You'd think that HTC's knock-on and gestures controls would limit the impact of this deficiency, but those features are unreliable with the phone in the case. That knock-on and gesture controls wouldn't work is something I see as an acceptable compromise for the convenience offered by the case, and something I would expect from any case due to the difficulty in sensing gestures and swipes through the thick plastic that covers the phone's screen. The blind fumbling for the power button, however, even though it's an issue that normally only manifests at the beginning and end of a workout, is the maddening flaw that keeps from giving this product a better rating.

If you sweat, AVOID IT.
I must agree with other reviewers. This band does not offer water protection. If you are participating in an activity that produces a lot of sweat, you will put your device at risk. I first started using this while training for a half marathon. During the short (<5 miles) runs, this was perfect. But as the runs got longer, the weather hotter, and I sweated more, the armband was not so great. Condensation will build up on the screen. And, moisture can slip into the exposed contacts like the USB and headphone port. I've had both act funny after a long run (the usb kept prompting for docking mode and the phone got stuck in headphone mode even when no headphones were being used). I put the phone in a bag of rice for 1/2 a day and things returned to normal. FYI. It's not worth letting a $5 armband expose your $200-600 phone to this kind of risk.

basic arm band
This is pretty much the most basic arm band you can get. My M8 doesn't fit well in the case. There is a lot of room all around the phone. When I take off the arm band to answer a quick text I have to press down really hard because there is so much room between the phone and the clear screen of the arm band. Its frustrating. There is no power or volume buttons on the band. I thought that wouldn't be a big deal but when you are running and want to turn the volume up/down or turn off the screen with one hand...it matters. Overall it does the job. It had a key holder and stays tight on your arm. However, next time I will probably spend the extra money for a better quality one.

great for the average runner
Advantages: holds phone well and allows the full screen to be used.Disadvantages: the elastic allows the phone to move a lot when u running unless u really tighten the band down. The plastic of the screen window can create problems if u don't turn up the brightness on your phone.Extra comments: I'd definitely suggest this to any if my friends. I sweat a lot and I mean a lot and I haven't had a problem with it ruining my phone. For the price I can't imagine another case being better

Comfort, safety and protection from rain.
Fits my phone without taking the case off (UAG case) and the headphones port is still open. Kept my phone dry on a rainy bike ride. It's comfortable and great for checking the GPS if I'm riding in unfamiliar places. The screen can be a lot less sensitive to touch, but with a little effort you can use it just fine. Reflectivity is always a plus at night. The band has a wide range of adjustability so I can put it on my biceps or my forearm depending on my needs, but it could be cinched down for more petite women as well. If it's not raining, I like to turn the headphone port up and run it under my sleeve to keep the dangling wires to a minimum until I get a bluetooth headset.

Fits well on my big arms, but subpar quality that will not last long
The phone fits in the armband, but it is difficult to press buttons on the phone while it is in the case as the plastic front does not sit properly on the phone screen. The quality of the case is not great either and I can see the thread loosening after just a few uses, which forces me to be very gentle when inserting and removing the phone from the armband. I also try to limit how often I remove the phone so that it lasts a bit longer. I have fairly big arms and the band fits well as it has 2 different loops that you can use.
