Heavy and secure(ish), holds a fair amount of documents. I mostly use it for passport and various IDs I need to keep safe. Certainly good for the price. The lock is kind of weak but will hold up against light tampering, but I purchased it more for being fireproof than secure.

Bought for A4 documents and thankfully A4 documents provided they aren't in files fit. Some paper document folders full of A4 fit quite well as do envolopes that take A4 papers. As expected of Master Lock the lock and even the locking mechanism and opening catch are rubbish. Check out the LockPickingLawyer's youtube channel if you are under the illusion that Master Lock make anything thats difficult to get into. Well I'm wrong it was very difficult to open when it wasn't even locked. The mechanism is poor and if you don't press the opening lever just right (you need to press the part nearest the lock quite hard) it won't open. That discovered and not being worried about security only fire it seems to be the best item for size in its price range. Edit> Think I should add that the weight of the thing is a major downside. You need to plan where this will go put it there, pehaps bolt it down (there are internal marks for doing this) and then never move it again. Did I suggest it was heavy? Originally I'd planned to put this in a location where I'd need to move it to get at the contents, due to the weight this isn't going to happen.

Heavy like it says, but I can lift it, and put it on a sturdy plant holder with castors for transporting about! It takes A4 docs and slightly larger too so ideal for my purposes (although I hope never to be able to report on what state everything is in after a fire!). The key is nominal but I bought it more for the fire and water safe idea than for burglar proofing as I don't keep valuables in it. Overall, very pleased.

This arrived in just its retail box. Nothing protected it during transit. No polystyrene or bubble wrap. This concerned me, especially given some of the previous reviews so invoking it was a bit nerve wracking. However, this fire proof safe did in fact arrive in perfect condition. I'd imagine that it's a gamble, depending on the couriers driving and handling. Upon opening I read the instructions. These were very well written and simple to understand. It offers good advice on care, usage and maintenance. You must read these instructions otherwise you might find you have some issues. Information as to what to do if you loose a key and skills problem solving. It's really simple to use. Supplied with two keys. The locking mechanism seems quite secure. But it isn't meant to be a vault. Its primarily to secure documents and electronics to keep them safe from fire or flood. I think it would deter most thieves from attempting breaking into it. Some previous reviews mention a white powder. I had that slightly around the hinges. But not a lot at all. Don't underestimate the weight of this. It is heavy. Beware that if you intend to bolt this safe down it mentions in the instructions that it will no longer be guaranteed safe from water ingress. The space inside is generous. I have three hard drives and a bunch of important A4 documents, which lay flat and our passports, licences etcetera. This is the cheapest 1 hour fire proof safe I could find on the market. And I'm impressed.

I don't know why but I wasn't expecting it to be quite as heavy as it is so beware! It is very sturdy/robust build and the internal size accommodates my original house deeds which are in an A3 envelope once one end is folded although I was also expecting more internal room as with only 8 envelopes, x4 passport size items it is almost full . It is a shame some space is lost in the roof of the lid but perhaps this is for additional water/fire protection, I don't know it could also have benefitted from pockets on the internal side of the lid for small items such as passports etc. I like the idea of having two keys. I obviously cannot say how efficient it is regarding its protection from water/fire and I hope never to have to feedback on this aspect but regarding if found during a robbery, I don't think they would be able to run very far with it due to the weight. Update...... Big problem! March 2017, I went to remove my passport on the Friday evening before going on holiday the following Monday and the box would not open. The key turned and I felt the mechanism release but the catch on the lid stayed put. I tried various combinations of holding the catch/turning the key incase I was doing something wrong but nope, nothing worked. In desperation I contacted Amazon who did find a contact number for the company but could only offer a refund once I could empty it and return it. The company had closed for business at 4.30 so I emailed them, pleading for someone to get back to me. I finally picked up an email from them on the Thursday whilst away asking for me to advise the model number when I had already said there was nothing visible from the outside. what was the outcome I hear you ask? After finding out a locksmith would charge me around £75 to break into the box we tried plan 'B' and took a sledge hammer to the lid/catch area which finally allowed the box to open. will I be sending it back? I don't know if I could carry it anywhere so will have to think about it as it weighs so much. Would I recommend it to others - NO as this whole experience was extremely stressful

Great safe for protecting valuables from fire and water. However, the locking mechanism is very weak. I decided to purchase the safe with the normal key lock instead of the programmable digital combination lock, because I rather open it easily if something happens rather than the digital lock malfunctioning and not being able to open it again. It would have been a better idea to add a key lock along the digital lock, rather than the digital lock by itself. As stated on the SentrySafe/MasterLock websites and videos, this safe is not to protect your valuables from thieves as it is mainly focused to protect your valuables from fire and water, because anyone can break into it even with the most minimal knowledge about lock picking. A few other things to mention is that the rubber seal around the inside the lid of the safe easily comes off and there is a gap in between the lid and the base of the safe when the safe is closed. Unsure on how well this is going perform during a fire or a flood. Very heavy. Difficult to move around and needs to be placed in an accessible spot. Should have been made with handles on the side or even wheels. A good idea is to put the safe in a small suitcase, as in case of an emergency, it will be easier to move it around. It would have been better if it have some sort of handle on the sides or wheels underneath as it is really difficult to grab on to it when moving it around. I did consider purchasing the Sentry Safe CHW30220, which is the same safe but with the tubular key lock and more expensive thinking it has a safer lock, but after watching a few videos on the Internet about how easy is to pick the lock on this model, I decided to purchase with the normal key. It can fit 14 DVD/Bluray size cases, in between 1000 and 1200 A4 pages, slightly larger files, protector sheets and binders. I recommend inserting desiccant packs inside the safe to protect your valuables from moisture. Made in Mexico.

Très bon produit. De qualité. Fait son poids. La place est tout à fait convenable. Permet de stocker des documents, un disque dur, des clefs , .... Bien lire les recommandations pour son placement ! A garder bien à plat pour la garantie.

Der Tresor verschließt sehr gut und tut glaube ich seine Pflicht. Auch in sein Versteck passt er gut rein, ich glaube er weiß was was seine Arbeit ist sich klein zumachen und unsichtbar zu sein.

Het slot is van zo'n slechte kwaliteit dat ik het zelfs niet durfde te vergrendelen. Ik was bang dat het met een simpele wrik al weer open zou gaan. Het zou weinig moeite kosten dan om het te openen, maar dat is natuurlijk niet de bedoeling.
