Current Medical Diagnosis And Treat

this is a very special book which, in effect, details rather expletives diagnostic facts as it applies to several medical conditions. It can be used by non- medical people although they be somewhat Bio Medical knowledgeable because of its wording which, in accordance with the subject matter, inevitably has to contains a compendium of pure medical diagnostics terms. The book offers very detailed and rather in depth information concerning signs and symptoms of common enough diseases and affects as they occur in our present days societies. The information available in the book is a good guide to use in the case of non- medical people having to decide to seek medical help. I have some studies in basic Medicine but I am not a physician but it is nonetheless the reason for my purchasing the book which and I found most informative and very educational. It would no doubt be a very useful tool in the making of a better informed decision in the throes of seeking expensive medical help for oneself or for family members

Needed a new updated version. This arrived in a timely fashion and was a great price. While it is not 2016 current, it does give good information and better than my 1992 edition. I know that the internet has access to most of this information but I do like having a hard copy as I can browse the index if I am not sure what the name is that I am hunting for. Not so easy when you are doing a computer search where it is important that you enter the correct term for what you are hunting for. Good general reference book.

This is a really great basic science reference that is more clinical than say say a Robbins' or Harrison. It is not ideal as a desk reference as the table of contents only lists chapter and not subheadings, ex: chapter x = heart disease, with no list of diseases underneath. You therefore have to flip through the whole chapter or look it up in the appendix. Information is excellent however and I use it probably weekly to brush a few times a month as a primary care provider. Doesn't go into treatment algorithms, best for a longer read.

I have most of the current text books, Harrison etc, but this is the most concise and "compact". Perfect layout, it is dense but its all the information you need. Instead of the explanation of pathophysiology found in Harrisons, it gives a brief summary and focuses on the the trials that have proven the correlated symptoms and best approaches to management. This is what you need to make you a star on rounds

The shipping on this item was slow, but the book itself is excellent. As the title suggests, this is a book for clinicians who want to keep up with the latest treatments, etc. It really isn't for students who are learning the topics for the first time or for visual learners who prefer a lot of photos and diagrams. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is over 1800 pages thick and they bound it in a soft paperback cover.

This book is very informational. It make me feel confident that is updated with new information yearly. I have found it easy to sit down and read for hours at a time and I always come across some form of information I have not yet heard in other texts!

Very good book. I used it since my med school days. Got the kindle edition but the table of contents is not detailed and the index at the end is so long that it is very hard to find the topic of interest easily. May be ok for people who want to review the whole GI or Cardiology chapter in one go but if you want to find heart failure specifically, you have to flip thru the pages to find it or use the search option which is very slow. Finally I returned the kindle edition after 5 days and ordered the paperback version today.

I really like having this book in paper. My school offers it online but I like having it to look at, highlight it etc. It's bigger than I realized (3" thick) but it provides a great overview of the disease process and treatment options. Very helpful as a new NP.

Pela primeira vez estou usando a versão digital Kindle.

one of the best book for knowledge of diagnosis. doctor can also know the more & more latest information of medical science for his or her treatment.

I usually buy a copy about every three years because of the rapidly changing realities of medicine in all its challenges (especially for us GPs!)

I'm a practising GP in the UK and this is an excellent book if you can get around the American orientation there is an absolute wealth of information to make you realise that after 20 years of practising medicine you still don't know much!
