This stuff works pretty good for what it is. Follow the directions. You add it to oil that’s at regular operating temperature. Then run the engine at 1,200 rpm for 10 minutes. Then drain the oil while warm. The oil will come out pitch black. It’s not going to work miracles on neglected engines but it’ll start the process of breaking down sludge and deposits. I use it regularly as part of a maintenance routine of keeping my high mileage engines running as clean as possible. (Pictured is my 2011 BMW 528i with 250,000 miles on the original engine that EPR and BG44K treatments are done at every 5,000 miles right before the oil change.

I’m waiting to do my next oil change to see if this stuff did it job. When I flushed my oil after using this I did notice it removed a lot of sludge and hopefully what’s left of any little bit of metal from my cam gear sprocket.

While I have used a lot of BG products in my lifetime (dealership tech) I thought I would take a chance to see if this would help my loudly ticking 2012 Kia Soul engine. I ran this BG EPR and the oil sure was dirty but the noises were still there. I suspect this needs to be done more than once. One thing I did notice on the test drive after the oil change was the engine was peppier. Now I am going to do the Berryman clean as I think it might free up the rings better than the BG EPR did. Still this is not a bad product.

I've been troubleshooting oil burning in my Gen3 Coyote for 2 years. On average, it burned 1L every 1100km. A mechanic said he could mostly fix that with a major BG engine flush. He was right. The oil burning stopped for the first 2500km, but then started again. Doing my own oil changes every 5k, I figured a flush once per year would be prudent, but I was wrong and it continued to burn huge amounts of oil. Mechanic said the low-tension rings are prone to sticking and BG EPR should be done at every oil change. I did my own EPR flush (2 cans due to 9qt capacity) and have burned less than half a litre over 3800km. It worked for me.

I’m still in shock at how well this stuff works. My 2012 Toyota Camry with 182,000 miles was burning oil, had sluggish acceleration, and was pinging under load. Compression was getting uneven and the oil was black in under 1,000 miles. I’d heard the hype about BG EPR but figured nothing over-the-counter could actually fix that level of sludge and ring sticking… I was wrong. I bought the 3-pack because the BG instructions say one can treats up to 6 quarts, and I wanted to do a proper triple-treatment before my next oil change: First can: 15-minute idle. Oil came out looking like tar mixed with glitter – tons of chunky sludge. Fresh cheap oil + second can: another 15 minutes. Still nasty, but way less chunks. Third can with fresh oil, drove 40 miles normally, then immediately changed to full synthetic. Results after 500 miles on the new oil: Oil is still honey-colored (normally turns black in a week) Cold-start rattle is 95% gone Throttle response is night-and-day sharper Pinging under acceleration completely disappeared Gained almost 3 mpg (from 26 → 28.7 combined) Engine is noticeably quieter and smoother No fancy tools, no compression tester needed to feel the difference – this car literally feels 80,000 miles younger. The 3-can method is a little overkill for most people, but if you have a high-mileage, neglected, or oil-burning engine, it’s worth every penny. I’m now a believer and just ordered another 3-pack to keep on the shelf. If your engine feels tired, just buy it. BG EPR isn’t hype – it’s borderline magic in a can. 100% recommended.

This works! 2014 tundra 5.7, has a common timing chain rattle due to prolonged oil etc. If caught early enough this stuff works, after a two bottle treatment the rattle has gone away I also treated it BG MOA with fresh oil.
