does this product foam when drying

Yes. It does foam after a few minutes, so you need to wipe off the excess before leaving the item unattended. It's hard to get off once it hardens. You don't need to apply too much of the glue. It works great. You have to make sure you squeeze the bottle to remove most of the air. I also keep it doubled bag in plastic, so air doesn't harden the glue in the bottle. The new cover/top is a great improvement.

Will this glue be good enough for my shoe soles that's coming off in the front??

Yes, it will be good enough. One of the ladies in our office had a shoe sole issue with a pair of heels she was wearing and the Gorilla glue was a permanent fix.
