Thanks *by R***O on June 23, 2011* So today my strap came in, someone said that it is not real leather? Well I have a rebuttal for you; I HATE LEATHER! And avoid wearing it at all costs. I can scope out Leather quite well. However if I need to wear it for a ren faire costume or any other costume, I will. THIS IS REAL LEATHER! I know the feel, the smell, the sound. And this checks out in all categories for being real leather. However I can see how this may be mistaken for faux leather. It is highly glossy, giving it a fake feel, but that smell is unmistakable. If you are a Zelda Fan, and like to carry your Master Sword places (Or if you have a Kokiri, Ordon, Great Fairies Sword or any other sword from the franchise... This is the real deal. It is the same type of strap that Link carried through Twilight Princess. I consider myself a long time Zelda Fan. The ONLY complaint I have about this thing is how uncomfortable it is. HOWEVER! It is not that the strap itself is uncomfortable. It is because the sword itself is 40lbs. The strap, as a strap should be, is light weight, a whole 4-6 lbs, adding as LITTLE weight as possible to the bearer. Bottom line is, Yes this is a high quality strap, durable enough to carry a sword of 40 lbs.
