Technics Needle Gauge Adjustment

It is a good idea and works as specified. Just not as well as I was hoping. I thought it was going to be a bit more than it was. To be fair it does and is everything that it is advertised. Bit I was hoping for a little bit more than it is. Don't get me wrong though it works. It delivers as it was created for. It's just not a perfect piece yet. It has no line up when placing it on the tone arm. So it has to be adjusted until it's lined up diligently. Then it can easily be bumped out of place. Which is annoying! Also lining it up is tricky when it is moving with the pieces it's trying to align. But with patience it is a good buy.

This works good If you have interchangeable head shells with standard H-4 bayonet mount. This one is used to set needle at 52MM for Technics turntables. I have a Pioneer PL-514 table with "S" shaped tone arm that requires a 49MM overhang. I added my own mark at 49MM so now it can also be used to set my Pioneer turntable Needles to exactly the right alignment from the rubber ring on the back of the head shell to the needle tip. I was glad to see this item at Amazon , I lost the one that came with my Pioneer table. This was less hassle than trying to find one on ebay

It's an alignment gauge for any turntable that uses a 15mm overhang. It will set your cartridge to an alignment that minimizes distortion for 12" records. If the effective length of your tonearm is 230 mm and your overhang is 15mm, then this is a tool you need to have to optimize your turntable's playback. Having your cartridge out of alignment not only sounds horrible but can damage your precious, irreplaceable vinyl.

Bought this little gem to fine tweek my cartridge alignment. Man, I was using a protractor and I was way off. Had no idea. I have about 7 carts too. This thing for such a cheap price just made a world of difference. Awesome product.

Used for AT lp120. Lined up the needle exactly to the arrow and measured it against a protractor and azimuth. Nothing to do more! LP gear can add up quick. Genuine from Japan and coming in at 5ish$ easily making it the best purchase for turntable.

This little device was spot on for my AT cartridge alignment on a Technics SL-1500 turntable. I used a protractor to check the positioning and no adjustments were necessary. Made of plastic but it works really well. Can also use it to store your cartridge upright. Well worth the price.

Perfect item I suppose but I had some sibilance after using this. Went back to my alignment protractor which gives better [although more difficult to achieve] results. This part here certainly does the job far better than using nothing at all so in that regard I’d recommend you get this if you haven’t properly adjusted your cartridge and also don’t want the hassle of, or perhaps don’t have the steady hands and patience for, a protractor.
