Really works
We have a huge ground squirrel population because of our next door neighbor who does nothing to keep the ground squirrels down on his side. Keeps other animals from getting the food. We use a brand that allows the ground squirrel to die in their hole, so no other animals are affected.

These traps really work with the bait!
We have a huge ground squirrel population here at our home in the country. A friend recommended this and I bought 5 to cover our two homes. They were destroying everything and seemed uncontrollable. Tried the metal wire traps and got 1 squirrel in 4 months. Obviously those didn't work. But this does with the bait! Hardly see those pests anymore. Highly recommend! Super easy to use and well priced too. Check them once a week and add bait as necessary. I started with 3 cups. No more dozens of them running around tearing up things now.

This bait station appears to work!
I was not expecting much from this bait station. I had tried many things to get rid of an infestation of chipmunks on my property. They dug holes and tunnels everywhere, they were killing my grass, destroying ornamental plant around the house, and compromising my home's foundation. I was about to give up when I found this bait station. Paired with the correct bait and a whole lot of hope, I set this bait station out - first near a particularly upsetting hole where I had been watching helplessly as chipmunks entered and exited without any concern that I could stop them. But after a week or so, their movements became less and less, and eventually they were gone! So with great expectations, I moved the bait station to the middle of the worst area of my yard where chipmunk activity was at its greatest. It has now been a few more weeks, and I can with gladness state that I have noted a tremendous decrease in the number of chipmunks that I have seen. This thing is working! I plan on purchasing a couple more of these bait stations and move them around my entire yard. There is finally light at the end of my journey toward having a chipmunk-free yard!

Works as promised if used with right bait
I think this worked perfectly for ground squirrels in our suburban/wildlife neighborhood. I say think because it's not immediate -- you have to give it the time the instructions say. First, note that this is for ground squirrels only, not tree squirrels, which are a different animal. Here in CA tree squirrels are protected but ground squirrels, which are a terrible pest that destroy crops, flowers, trees, foundations and anything else they eat or burrow into, are not. This station is good because it has two small tunnels the animal must enter to get the bait; ground squirrels happily enter small tunnels but tree squirrels -- at least mine -- will not, so the box design excludes the good squirrels. Secondly, you have to use proper ground squirrel bait. This is a grain or seed-type bait the ground squirrels will be attracted to. Lastly, follow the instructions -- place stations near burrows but not right on top of them, and you have to give the squirrels several days to find the station and start eating. The baits are slow release -- this prevents a non-target animal from eating it once and dying -- so as the target ground squirrels return and eat continuously they build up enough, uh, secret sauce to quietly and peacefully go to sleep. I'm not fond of hurting any living thing, but trapping ground squirrels is impossible and many states do not allow you to transport or relocate them. So, it's a nice long sleep, and this station is the safest and most effective way to manage the problem.

Worked Surprisingly Well
I was a little unsure about this as a means to eliminate Ground Squirrels. But I can say after a month of placing this bait station & bait close to a hole they've been hiding out in, there's no more activity. In fact the bait seems to be staying at a specific level now - another sign of no more squirrels. This came as a recommendation of a rodent removal service. The BAIT is call KAPUT and available online in our state (Ca.)

I bought two kinds of poison when I ordered this-- one was yellow and one was green. I rotated both kinds and the squirrels wouldn't try either. They completely ignored the bait station. Our yard was overrun with squirrels because the lady next door feeds them. When they got into my attic, I had to do something. After over a month with the squirrels completely ignoring the bait station, I put some peanut butter on Ritz crackers and made bait sandwiches and put them in the station. The squirrels ate the crackers, peanut butter, AND the bait! The yellow bait was more popular than the green with the peanut butter. The squirrel population is noticeably diminished now after three months. I also found that the squirrels do not go all the way into the station so you have to put the bait in the double open-ended tube.

Worth the money
Although a bit pricey, they are worth the money. I hope they last 4+ years!!
