The Best Micro Multitool
I have carried a multitool on my keychain for years, all of them more bulky than this, and with fewer tools. A pair of pliers AND a pair of scissors? Excellent. I use my multitools all the time, but I dislike the bulk they add to my pocket. This, however, is smaller than the key fob for my car. It's tough, too. I was using the standard screwdriver as a small prybar just last night, to pry staples out of wood. I was also yanking staples with the pliers (which include wire cutters). I also used the phillips screwdriver (this doubles as the file). The blade is very sharp. The tweezers will come in handy. I have never thought the box opener was a necessary tool, bit I have been using the box opener on this, and I have really been missing out. Lol.I am very pleased with this. It's a great all around multitool for anyone looking for a daily pocket tool. And the quality you get for the price really can't be beat.

Excellent Everyday Carry Mini Multitool
Needed a replacement for a Leatherman Squirt P4, but that model has been discontinued. Needed one with mini pliers, so enter the Gerber Dime. A bit bulkier and heavier than my old Leatherman, but it is heavy duty, well built and everything I need in an everyday carry mini multitool. The best part, the Gerber Dime is much less expensive, but with the same qualtiy and rock solid warranty.

Useful multi-tool for the money!
I use the Gerber Dime often. I keep this little multi-tool on my Keychain. It's easy to open and lock. It fits in my pocket and I can barely feel it's there. It's not very thick, but it's heavier than I prefer for such a small tool. I've used every tool on it, but my favorite and most used is the package/box opener. The flathead screwdriver/pry bar is probably my second most used tool, and it's decently functional for it's purpose. The scissors are useful to clip fingernails or small strings from clothing, but that's about it. The knife blade is a sheepfoot shape, and it definitely needs sharpened before use. The nail file/Philip head screwdriver is ok for filing fingernails, but not as a screwdriver. The tweezers are decent as I used them to remove a splinter lol. Then the pliers which I wouldn't recommend using for any large tasks. I've only used the pliers once to loosen a small bolt. I gave 4 stars because of the weight of the tool, and the pliers aren't very useful. Overall it's worth the money for what you get from it, and I'd recommend.

A postmortem
I bought my dime a year ago at least. Maybe more. It served me well. It's small enough to carry constantly but it came in handy nearly every day. The tweezers and blade will take care of splinters. The box opener works well. The file is nearly useless. The scissors too, although between the two I was able to trim and file my nails with effort. I have tightened many a screw with the flat Phillips and slotted bits. The can opener will pop open a paint can.The little pliers were what I used most - I have weakness and dexterity issues I my hands from carpal tunnel surgery and they made a lot of small tasks easier. As you can see from the patina i used this little tool a lot. Today it finally gave out. As others say, you have to be careful not to put torque on the pliers. I was trying to twist an Allen key with them to adjust a truss rod and I twisted the pliers the wrong way. They're thin, and the steel finally cracked on me.Rest in pieces little buddy. You'll be missed.I decided to upgrade to a tool with heftier pliers since that was the failure point, but this little multitool is great as a very light duty utility tool. Get it if you want something lightweight that fits in a crowded pocket.

Highly recommend.
Love this!! It is indeed “dime sized,” but is a fabulous multi-tool. This was a gift for my husband at Christmas, but I liked it so much that I carry it now! This is very small, but effective! Fits in your pocket very easily. Must have! This would be great for a hiking pack or a purse bc it takes up little room and weighs very little. Gerber products are all quality, and I highly recommend this little guy for anyone that needs a small multi-tool!

BEST KEYCHAIN-ABLE "MINI" POCKET KNIFE / MULTI-TOOL I'VE OWNED
I've been a pretty regular Victorinox buyer for 30+ years. I've owned about 5 or 6 of their smallest mini model [1.5" blade, scissors, nail file, toothpick, tweezers] - attached to my keys. Disney City Walk's security confiscated this dangerous deadly weapon (don't know when they started TSA'ing people outside of the park, but I just found out they are now; and they took my mini knife - thanks Disney). Needed a new knife. Price on Victorinox was way higher than expected. I thought I'd try this model if I was going to pay more than $15. Turned out to be a good decision. This is well made. Heavier and larger than the Victorinox, but still a reasonable size for a keychain attachment. MUCH more useful than the Victorinox mini - and none of the useless outdated tools (e.g. hide awl) you'll find on larger multi-tool knives. This is my new favorite "mini" pocket knife. If I lose or break this one, I'll get another. GERBER: request - please keep making this one as-is.
