A mate (the gourd) half full of yerba (the leaves) and a bombilla (the tube with the strainer or tea drinking straw) are also needed, The cebador (the person in charge of preparing the mate, or master of ceremonies) will then put his wet hand on the mate and shake it so that the powder, which comes with the yerba, will stick to his hand and so prevent the bombilla from getting blocked. This is the moment in which the bombilla has to be stuck into the mate and the water poured into it in such a way, that it has to glide along the bombilla, not wetting the yerba at the top… Review: Most delicious tea EVER! - The most delicious tea EVER! I am hooked on it in the best of ways... The company I ordered it from, kindly delivered it home with other three single sample servings of Yerba Mate Teas, which I also enjoyed very much. This is now my first choice in hot drinks. The serving size on the bag is off but I figured out that one tablespoon makes one cup serving and the flavor is so rich. I have used different flavorings with it such as organic Ceylon Cinnamon and fresh Ginger then sweetened it either with a little organic maple syrup or honey. It is important to use nice reverse osmosis water, pure clean water, as hot as it can get then let it steep for 10 to 15 minutes. It is such an enjoyable experience first thing in the morning. Review: Yes - Can’t live without it ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B003W63VKA | | Best Sellers Rank | #133,062 in Grocery & Gourmet Food ( See Top 100 in Grocery & Gourmet Food ) #4,813 in Herbal Tea | | Brand | Amanda | | Brand Name | Amanda | | Caffeine Content Description | Medium Caffeine | | Container Type | Gourd | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 196 Reviews | | Flavor | Unflavored | | Item Form | Loose Leaves | | Item Volume | 35.27 fluid ounces | | Item Weight | 2.2 pounds | | Manufacturer | La Cachuera S.A. | | Model Number | SYNCHKG020268 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Part Number | COMINHKG020268 | | Product Benefits | Promote Relaxation, Increase Energy | | Recommended Uses For Product | Drinking as tea | | Sweetness Description | Not Sweet | | Tea Variety | Yerba Mate | | UPC | 658115000141 | | Unit Count | 35.27 Ounce | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Amanda - **Flavor:** Classic - **Item Form:** Loose Leaves - **Tea Variety:** Yerba Mate - **Unit Count:** 35.27 Ounce ## Images ![Yerba Mate Amanda 1 Kg - 2.2 Lb - Argentina - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61pxxlLr3bL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: How much caffeine in a cup?** A: this is loose leaf yerba. it's meant to be drunk through a special straw. you can watch videos of preparation and drinking on youtube. if you want a cup of mate, i suggest looking for mate cocido. that comes in bags like tea. You can look up caffeine comparisons online. I have but don't remember the exact milligrams. it is less than black tea which is about a third of coffee. I'm not sure how the 'cocido' affects the caffeine. **Q: Is it powder or leaf** A: The pack on the picture It's leaf. We also sell the powder for mate cocido, if you are interested on that please follow the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076ZXJD7W?ref=myi_title_dp **Q: Does it help with weight loss?** A: Hello! It could help with some weight loss, yes **Q: Does it have a lot of fine powder that gets through strainer?** A: Most common brands Rosamonte and Canarias etc.., have fine powder, so to avoid strainer clogging you may better put in jar and shake it well then you will find the powder remain in the bottom. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Most delicious tea EVER! *by L***N on June 19, 2015* The most delicious tea EVER!
