Translucent Vinyl Tames Bright Colors
I liked the black version of these boxes, but the colored ones are even nicer. The high-quality vinyl comes in attractive bright colors. The bottoms are very easy to put together; the tops are at first a bit challenging. When empty, they look flimsy and unstable, but when filled with CDs, they are perfectly sturdy. In short, these boxes are attractive, affordable, and functional.

Not Heavy-Duty But Fit My Needs
No, these boxes are not exactly tough and strong -- if you're looking for a CD box that you will be accessing frequently, I'd move on to another product. That being said, I had saved all our CD's to hard drives but wanted to store the actual discs in totes. I started putting them into the totes and quickly realized it would be a nightmare if I ever needed to find a specific disc. Therefore, I went to Amazon looking for inexpensive, non-bulky boxes to separate the discs into groups. I purchased three sets and now have two totes of beautifully separated discs. I numbered and labelled each box, copied my iTunes album list to a spreadsheet, and put the tote # and box # next to each album. A copy of my list went into the totes and a copy is saved to my computer. I was able to fit 8 of these CD boxes into each tote (this will obviously vary depending on tote size). Each box seems to hold approximately 29 normal CD's with cases. The colors are fun and pretty much matched my computer screen (maybe half a shade lighter). The plastic is not thick -- think of a manila or file folder, only made of plastic. Assembling the boxes wasn't difficult and took maybe a minute per piece. My advice would be to pre-fold, then start inserting the tabs from bottom to top. The tabs are slightly bigger than the holes (this is a good thing as it keeps the box together) so don't try to jam the whole tab in at once... start by putting in one side of the tab and then other part of the tab will click easily into place. Assembling the lids was a slight pain.I would highly recommend these boxes to someone looking to store CD's in a tote or even on a shelf ... as long as they're not looking for something "elegant" and they won't be moved all that often.

Exactly what I needed
I love these things! They are just so adorable! And absolutely PERFECT for my children's art station. Make sure you crease the lines really well before folding together. Also, the lid helps hole the side shapes if you get the box too full. This is a vinyl material, not cardboard so, yes, it is flimsy, but I have no issues at all with them and the colors are very vibrant. They look great and are very functional. My children's Playdoh, markers, and Veggie Tales CDs go in them, I'm even considering getting another set for their rooms to store their hairbows and mittens.

Don't Buy These!
They are DIY, which I don't mind, BUT they are very hard to put together. The material is cheap plastic and not very attractive. They feel like they are going to fall apart once put together. The actual problem is the price, they are only worth about eight dollars total. I paid twenty two dollars so I can't say "oh well, they were cheap". Even with inflation, they are like DIY boxes you get at the dollar store for a dollar twenty five. Bad value for money. They don't look like they can really hold things, the plastic is very thin and weak and fragile. It is a waste of money. You're better off buying from the dollar store.

Fun
I give the product a 3 but a 5 for the laughter. First, get tape and needlenose pliers. Tape to make sure it stays together cause I don't want to redo. Pliers to force into tabs. Be ready to spend more than 5 minutes. Make sure you bend good creases at the folds. And a spouse. His comments: 1. how am I supposed to hold this slippery ass stuff. 2. Is this right? 3. It won't click. 4. @#$%&! 5. Shoe box. It won't hold but one shoe. 6. I usually finish what I start. 7. It doesnt cost that much more to go first class. 8. Honey, I love you. Thanks for helping me. My thoughts: the colors are bright and pretty. We're using them for cds which belong to him. Since the cost was cheap and we've got them together we'll keep them. Besides, we laughed a lot at the trouble such simple things gave us.

This storage bin is perfect for its intended use!
I must start out with a comment regarding the 1 & 2 star reviews, common sense dictates the proper assembly, use, and function of any product, many of these reviews are simply nonsense. Enough said...Please note; without the express purring consent and help of my fur-baby Emma, this review would not have possible or less entertaining! Also please take into account and let the record show; Emma was not awakened, interrupted or disturbed from her afternoon nap!Oh...before I forget, neither myself or Emma received any compensation, treats, coupons or extra nap-time for this review...To start off, these ingenious boxes afford easy shipping, after all, boxes start their life flat, hence they are shipped flat. For the most part, the photos tell the story. Simple package, CLEAR instructions despite some reviewers remarks, very easy fold and assembly despite some reviewers remarks. I also must mention this, I'm sorry I can't help myself, a reviewer made mention the colors were awful and weak...I'm not making this up...Let my record and photos show the colors are vibrant, pleasant, show well and make for a nice contrast on my shelf. Durable, light, use less space than cardboard, wipe clean and the lids on mine...stay put! Read the instructions, crease properly on the folds, do not fill them with Lead, rocks or welding-rods. I organize computer/mobile cables, charges, usb devices office supply's, even our daily medications. My wife uses them for her artist supply's and crafting. They are quite handy and there are several sizes and shapes and they all have a metal label slot.I could go on, however its Emma's treat/snack time, after all it is her and her sister Lucy's house, they just let us stay here to look after things...

Very hard to assemble and not sturdy. Do yourself a favor and pass
They are hard to assemble and will certainly fall apart if I open and close the boxes more than one more time. Very disappointing.
