ASUS 15.6" Full HD Touchscreen Chromebook (Intel N4200 Processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC, Chrome OS, Touchscreen Display), Black

I really like this Chromebook. I took the jump and replaced an old windows laptop with this Chromebook. And I'm glad I did now. It loads everything super fast and does everything I need it to do, no problem. Unlike a windows machine this doesn't need to be loaded (and bogged down) by loads of anti-spyware and anti-virus software. Compared to a windows laptop it doesn't need fans so it's thinner, slicker and the battery lasts longer and charges faster. And, because you can use apps from the playstore a lot of the software if free / cheap. I think this is probably the way forward for home computing as, let's face it, everything is and will go to cloud storage eventually. Which means machines will get lighter, faster and not need huge storage drives, fans, etc. The touchscreen is great and I'd advice anyone looking for a Chromebook to go for a touchscreen version. As the machine uses google apps (some of which were originally designed to run on android phones) a touchscreen is a definite advantage. Sure - if you're looking for a laptop to run graphic intensive games, or do video editing, anything that is really graphic intensive then this probably isn't the machine you're looking for. But, if like me, you're looking for something to do standard stuff with - surf the net, watch netflix, listen to music, write documents and emails, etc, etc. Then this is a really good option.

Great bit of kit. Chrome OS takes a bit of getting used to but not too bad for the price.

Best of all worlds if using for basics. Good price /function/speed/security.. Just a word of caution chrome books have a built in 5 year from manufacter stoppage on auto updates and security.. I found that on last chrome book I purchased literally within weeks of this date logging on and function fell off a cliff. This is all deliberately built in to force you to change what should be a perfectly functional product to a new one.. Not sure how legal this practice is but not common knowledge yet. Remember the count down starts when made not sold so if buying something in stock a long while you can loose out.. Other than above will run quickly and at same speed for years..

Love the laptop, is a bit of a change going from a 13 inch to this sized laptop, but it is still surprisingly light. The speakers also have a surprising amount of oompf. All the chromebook features are so handy for browsing on the web. Would highly recommend for a laptop for surfing the web and doing low level activities, not sure how it would hold up for higher cpu activities. Touch screen is good, but i have hardly used it. Brightness is v good, but not sure how well it would do outside on a sunny day. Very easy to use and set up.

I bought this to act as a console for a digital live music mixer. I just needed something portable with a good sized touch screen and a browser and wifi to connect with the mixer. It's great, very light and compact and clear screen. I haven't tested the battery life to the full but it seems to be able to run for a couple of hours which is ideal for controlling the sound in a gig without a nearby power socket. Mine is a bit of an obscure application but I would be very happy to use this as a working laptop if I was just working online, which these days I tend to do.

Utter waste of money, the power socket/port broke within a year, could not get it fixed and it seems that it was not designed to be fixed. Went back to buying a more robust Windows laptop which I have not had a problem with. Avoid at all costs and get a cheaper more durable non chrome model than this.

bought this chrome book because i,m well fed up with windows updates, 1903 would not go on my lap top i swore if i had any more problems with windows i would buy a chromebook and now i wish i,d bought one years ago it is brilliant, fast start up very responsive and i dont have to worry about updates anymore its great for surfing the web and emails if you dont do a lot of work on a laptop and just want basic this is for you im sure there is a lot more to this laptop than i need but eh this is brilliant ASUS well done

I knew already before buying that the quality of the screen will be bad and that battery is below the average what you can expect from the Chrome OS devices. Still, an excellent product for the discounted price I paid. Pentium N4200 is more than enough for web and youtube. Don't expect to be able to play any games. Chrome OS experience is a pleasant surprise. Battery time is still much better comparing to an average WIndows laptop. Quality of sound was another pleasant surprise. Camera is awful though. Amazing build quality as well.
