Product Description Friendly Loom Traditional Potholder Kit by Harrisville Designs is made in the USA and includes all of the tools needed to create beautiful potholders. The kit contains 1 sturdy metal loom (7" x 7"), 1 metal weaving hook, 1 crochet hook, illustrated instructions, and enough Cotton Loops to weave six potholders. The curved pegs on the loom keep loops stay nicely in place during weaving. Our loops come in 34 colors, each color available separately or in bags of mixed variety. Children who pick up the art of weaving are learning hand-eye coordination, patterning, and refining fine motor skills, and potholder weaving brings back memories of making them with their parents and grandparents. This kit is not compatible with the larger-size PotholderPRO Cotton Loops. Be sure to purchase loops for the Traditional size when you're ready for more loops! After making over 30 potholders, I've had less than 20 loops that would not stretch across the loom. **Q: Is this kit okay for a ten year old who has dexterity issues? I would be there to help. Thanks**
A: Absolutely.  My five year old has dexterity issues, he's in OT, and this is great practice!  It's not just okay, it's helpful. Just let him stop when he gets frustrated...take a week instead of an hour to make a potholder.  I bought this after our plastic one broke, it's sturdier and the colors are more attractive.  Oh, and you might need to do the final step for him, but that's quick.

**Q: does it come with a crochet hook?**
A: Yes, it comes with a crochet hook, as well as a metal loop hook that spans the whole loom.

**Q: Do you have just the weaving hooks available for purchase?**
A: Please call the company, Harrisville Designs at 800-338-9415 and they will be glad to send a replacement hook. Google their website for cool info about the company. They've been in business in a tiny town in New Hampshire since 1794. family owned, really neat business. Everything is made in the USA.

**Q: What is the loom made of, plastic or metal?**
A: heavy guage metal....seems really well made.  My daughter has had hers for 6 years and it is like new!

This kit made the cutest gift for our 7 year old niece who loves crafting! It contained high quality brightly colored fabric bands and a sturdy loom. The how-to instructions were easily followed. She was able to handily make several small potholders to give as gifts to others and to keep for herself to use while making cookies. The value for the price was excellent, as it was both affordable and useful. Would definitely purchase again. Makes a fun and versatile gift!
