Great looking mic
Let's be candid; I bought this mic because it looks cool, and that's why you want it, too.I was worried that it would look goofy, but it doesn't. It looks fantastic, especially in a low light environment.I was also worried that it would sound bad, but it doesn't. It's quite comparable to the Shure SM58 most of us are using now.The only thing to warn people about is that it requires phantom power to light up, however the mic works just fine without phantom power (just not lit up). This mic also earned extra points with me by coming in a sturdy, foam lined case that's around the size of a small lunch box.Definitely the mic I will be using for all my live shows now.

Cool Mic but read my review before buying.
The media could not be loaded. You'll need a cloud fluffer in order to get the sound you are looking for. It's an additional $150. On the video it shows a switch for the light. Well, no switch and my light isn't working. I have a quality mixer but I guess you need super quality to get the light to work. That sucks. But looks great and sounds great with the fluffer.

Great "wow" factor, and excellent sound
The Heil Fin has an excellent retro look but with very modern guts, and the added cool-blue glow just about pegs my geek-meter. Even my preliminary recordings (without a mic stand) were rich and clear, and I'm really looking forward to performing with this. The only snag I hit was that the super-heavy mic stand I ordered had an extra-wide support tube, so I wasn't able to connect the mic cord to the bottom of the Fin while it was on the stand since the threaded hole is so near the cord connection. I had to order a short mic extension tube. No big deal.

Not just another pretty face!
I’m actually stunned! I own many mics, including a KSM8, KSM9, and Super 55. The bass response and upper mids on this mic are sweet! Clarity! Character! Wow! This is not just another pretty face. This mic is legit and pro in every regard. AND...it’s just fun to use! I LOVE it!!!

great look great sound
Looks awesome in my home studio. Heavy built, very good quality. The included case is really good too. Sounding quality depends on your ears and choices. It really fits my expectations as non professional singer. Be aware that proximity effect is very important and a pop filter could be necessary for recordings.

Hunger games microphone.
This is the model of microphone that's used in the "may the odds ever be in your favor" scene of the hunger games. It's the chrome and white one and not the black one like I got. It lights up and sounds great.

Great aesthetics, decent sound with some disappointments you should know about.
I wish I could give this thing 5 stars but I can't. I'll start with the good: The sound is pretty crisp [in general], and it looks great aesthetically. Comes in a very cool case and the unboxing process was very satisfying. The first thing "wrong" with it is that the 'popping' sound from pronounced T's and P's is really unacceptable on a mic of this level. I swear my $40 Shure SM48 has a better built in pop filter than this $220 mic. Yes, I can put a windscreen in front of it, but that's going to mess with the aesthetic, which - let's be honest - is the reason you're even considering this mic.A second thing that you should know is that it doesn't light up without a phantom power input. That fact is buried in the long description of the product page and I wish it had been made more clear. There's a great comparison video on YT by Amy Westney that compares this mic vs. a Shure Super 55 [which is, in general, a cheaper mic] that I wish I had seen before making the purchase. I'd recommend giving that a watch before making a final decision on buying this.I like the mic enough that I kept it when I could have returned it, but after a couple of months of use, I believe that there are better options in this price range unless you're fine with sacrificing a bit of sound quality [and a very disappointing pop adjustment mechanism] for a sweet aesthetic.
