Easy to use with impressively high quality
I’m incredibly surprised at nearly every quality of this product, so I decided to write my first ever review on Amazon. The shield is made of very sturdy material that I would not feel worried that the daily dragging would deform it or hurt the elastic bands inside it. The main stem also feels sturdy and of high quality. Super easy to install for once and then to use for a loooong time, especially for people who are lazy like me who don’t want to do the setup work or folding on a shield for every time a sun shield is required. You basically stick it to the right of the windshield and then drag it to the left when needed to block out the sun. When you return to the car, simply take off the left side suction cup that anchors the shield and let it bounce back to the right. Each time it just requires like 3 seconds of effort, so much better than other types of the sun shield I used to use (and then abandon soon due to the tremendous work they have to take). Every day with the shield sticking to the right of the windshield, it’s barely noticeable and not to mention to affect driving. 100% recommend.

Functionality
Product is very flimsy... It needs to rely on the suction cup in one end and pulled to connect to another suction cup at the other end. Seems straight forward in theory. But it just wont last, when under the sun it gives in and the unit collapse back and as a result rips.....

UPDATED: A very light (no pun intended) recommendation.
UPDATE (1/27/2020): It's been a few months since purchasing and it's finally broken apart (see updated pictures). I stand by my original review: this thing's pretty cheap. It's a novel idea, but you can accomplish the same task with a regular old sun shade that requires folding up after use. Get the technique down, and you can fold in/out quickly. This suction cup accordian-style shade SEEMS convenient, but it would regularly lose suction, which would require me to reattach every now and then, and of course finally breaking due to frequent extension/retraction. I think you could pass on this and save money on a plain old fold-up sun shade. It's ok. The suction has come off a few times while pulling and retracting the visor, which means I have to be a little more delicate with the whole thing every time I use it. If I'm being honest, using a traditional, fold-up sun shade takes about the same time and effort (sometimes less, if you've mastered the art of folding them up after use) than trying to pull this retractable shade across the windshield and attaching it to its opposite suction cup without risking loss of suction power. It actually feels like a step or two more work, come to think about it. Plus, though it doesn't provide full coverage of the dashboard, it does do its job of providing general protection from the sun. I've attached several pictures so you can get an idea. All in all, it's not bad. It does its duty, but you have to be careful with it. And I understand it looks cooler than a basic, cheapo sun shade. It gets a very light (no pun intended) recommendation from me.**Oh, one more thing**: sometimes, upon retraction, the shade doesn't quite retract nice and pretty, as you can see from my final included picture, hence my earlier comment of having to be delicate with this thing.

Broke after only 3 months of light use
I was very excited to find this product. I remember my dad installing something similar in his car when I was younger. I liked the idea of not having a huge bulky cover floating around in my car during non use. However, today I went to use it and the plastic clip completely broke free from the screws holding it together. I don’t use it everyday but I do use it regularly. I’ve had it installed for only about 3-4 months and it’s already unusable.

Read the Instructions, it looks simple enough, but read them anyway.
I thought I might break it because of the Tension but it held up. The Suction Cups slid a little bit, but as I mentioned in the headline, Read the Instructions..... about how to prep the Suction Cups for better performance. It seems like a lot of trouble for a Sun Shield at first, but once it's up, leave it up on the far right of the windshieldand it's easier than reaching in the back seat for a shield and fussing with the Visors to keep it up.

Had mine for one year - still works!
I do not understand all of the bad reviews. I have had this product in my Nissan Kicks for just about one year. I use it everyday and have had no issues with loss of suction or failure to retract. The quality is good - the material is sturdy. After 11.5 months, though, the little plastic tab that holds it in place when open broke off and I simply added a binder clip with an elastic hair band which works great! I removed the binder metal "clips" (easy to do) and it has held great. I will probably buy another unit to replace this one though. I highly recommend this shade. Tip: if you have issues with the suction, simply clean your inside windshield and also wipe the suction cups with Windex - both get soiled over time and will prevent suction. A hot window will NOT prevent the suction from working - in fact, it helps the suction if you have a warm-hot window! A cold window, however, may affect the suction in the winter if you need to use the shade. I like my unit - it has been working great for the past year - no complaints!

Struggled since day 1
The suction cup where you clip was very weak and would often times retract mid-use..the actual holder was very hot (burned my skin every time...the 2 little screws that hold the clip went through the holes and came apart. Overall not a good product for the price. Struggled since day 1

This sun shade is what I WANT!!!
I bought my previous sun shade from Walmart but I was very disappointed. The reason I do not use it was that it's not convenient! Roll it up and the only place to put it when not in the window is in the way back where it takes up a bunch of space. Then, go around and open the back hatch to unroll it and go back around to the front to sit back down and put it in place. Repeat the take it down and put it back into the back of the car. It's so big rolled up there's no where else to put it when not in use.The design of retractable sun shade is what I WANT! Easy to use and DO NOT NEED TO TAKE IT DOWN AFTER USE!!!
