I purchased this portable cd/dvd drive to import pictures and music onto my new computer that doesn’t have a drive. It works great! It has read every cd/dvd that I’ve put into it with no issue. It connected right to my computer with no issues. It’s compact, yet offers many ways to connect to it including sd cards (I haven’t tried this yet). The connection cable has two ends to hook into your computer or devise by usb or usb-c and it folds and is stored on the bottom of the drive which keeps it from getting damaged. Great little drive for a reasonable price.

I purchased this because the one that I had isn't compatible with my laptop. I have a Lenovo Legion and the DVD/CD drive I had is a Dell. I wanted to rip some of my CDs to put on a thumb drive and I really like this one. It is so much better than my Dell. It is truly a plug-and-play. It plays so smoothly and it's very sturdy. And it comes with a case which is padded. I like that it has Windows Media Player built-in, which is what I've always used in the past. But I am extremely impressed with the seller. He emailed me the user manual. Not because I asked. He just did it. This is a top-notch seller and I highly recommend the DVD/CD drive and the seller!!

Here is my early opinion on this disc drive after playing and ripping a few audio and data CDs:Pros-- It comes with lots of ports and features for a relatively low price.-- The power cable holder being built into the bottom of the device is helpful for traveling.-- It is truly plug and play on my Windows 11 Lenovo laptop. You don't have to download any additional software or install any drivers if you already have Windows Media Player or something similar.-- The CD reading and CD ripping speeds are neither slow nor fast, just about what you'd expect from those tasks. It took around 5 minutes for it to open and extract a data CD containing a 700 MB zip file. And it took roughly 5 minutes to rip a 280 MB music CD into .WAV lossless audio files.-- You can get a free 2-year warranty extension after emailing the manufacturer your order number.Cons-- The power cable is shorter than I would have liked. You will have to set this drive right next to your PC's USB port.-- It's so lightweight that the whole thing moves when I push the disc tray back into place after opening it. The mechanical eject button only works for sliding the tray out, not pushing it back in.-- The super highpitched whining noise that it makes while functioning is a bit ear-grating. If you have a high sensitivity to sound, you'll want to wear noise-cancelling headphones while using this drive.-- The ROOFULL logo sticker on top of the device looks cheap, so I just peeled it off so that it wouldn't be such an aesthetic eyesore.-- Whoever's packing this company's shipments is putting A LOT of faith into their foam carrying case, because that's the only protection it shipped with inside of a thin plastic bag.Final VerdictWith all that said, for only $30, I'd still say that the cons are mostly just nitpicks and not dealbreakers.I currently plan on keeping this drive and just dealing with the fact that it's good but less than perfect.

I bought this unit to use with my laptop which has no CD/DVD drive. I found it very easy to use simply by plugging it into one of the USB 2.0 or 3.0 ports. I've only had this unit a few days but have put it to the test using all functions. It had no problems reading CDs and DVDs that I've created in the past or factory recorded music and movies. It has a pretty short cord so I used an extension USB cable. The cord has a spot under the unit that it fits into for storage which is kind of nice. The build quality seems good. I have the one that comes with a nice padded storage case. So far I'm really pleased with this unit. I burnt a few CDs with music and it functions at a good speed and had no errors. The small instruction manual covers everything you need to know. It's really a basic unit that just plugs in and is ready to go. Its nice to have a drive for my Acer laptop now. I'd definitely recommend this unit.

Plug and play. Very portable. Built in usb a cable. Slots for various flash memory cards. Plus extra USB port. Works well with windows 11.

I don't normally write reviews, but felt like I had to for this. It did exactly what it said it would and did it first time I tried to use it. Just plugged it in and it worked. I cannot stress how great it was to find a product that does that. That just does what it's supposed to. Keep in mind you do have to do a little work yourself in that you need to have the secondary programs to read the media already on your computer (iTunes, Media Player, etc), but as long as you have that, you're good to go. It does also have some nice secondary features: the padded storage case with the additional pocket for storage, the additional power cable, and the notch to tuck the primary cable into so it's out of the way while the product is being stored. Great little device and at good price. Very happy.

A perfect device for ripping DVDs. It's easy to use and there was practically no setup work involved. The quality is wonderful as well, with the USB ports nice and tight. And the case is great, and nicely padded. You don't need to think twice, this is a keeper!
