Best idea ever for helping those in walking casts.
I had a stress fracture 3 yrs ago and wore the "boot" for 6 weeks - even with my tallest shoes, I could NOT get my hips level and as a result took another month to be able to walk without limping and the chiro loved to see me.This product is AWESOME! It brings whatever shoe I'm wearing up to the same level as the boot. It gives me stability over most surfaces and allows me to work on my feet for hours without my hips bothering me.I have to say it is most comfortable on my leather sneakers or hiking shoes over my sandals or clogs, the rubber that comes over your foot can bite into your toes if they aren't protected by shoes. However, that is such a small price to pay to be pain free while walking like a human and not limping and tweaking your back.I looked at the cheaper versions of this product and they looked more restrictive - I'm glad I chose this style because it definitely is the best value. There is nothing I would change about it. I noticed a few people complained that it comes off...they either have the wrong size or are trying to use the wrong shoe. I have managed to knock the heel off twice. I stumbled down a curb once and once I caught my foot on a stall mat...it has yet to slip in wearing on grass, pavement, concrete and all different slopes to the ground. I've worn it while working craft fairs on grass and concrete and with the walking and standing associated with setting up and working a booth, I am thrilled with how well this has helped me endure wearing the dreaded boot on my broken foot.

Saved my back
Recommended by my doctor. Neither of the height options made my legs completely level with each other when I wore the boot on my fractured foot, but almost! It was a lot better than walking without the leveler. I know it saved me some back aches!

Ingenious idea, TERRIBLE EXECUTION
The media could not be loaded. My orthopedist was so pumped to give me a leg up while using my boot for FOUR months that he printed off a picture of Even Up on Amazon. I was blinded by his good looks then overwhelmed by this thoughtfulness. Doc gets 50 stars but this product gets a 1, for ingenuity. I wear a women's 6 and ordered a small, which fits sizes 6-8 (huge difference). The most impractical part of this product is when you’re finally haphazardly strapped in, excited to take a step, the rock hard foam doesn’t bend with the arch of your shoe and out pops your heel. Maybe my good foot is deformed as well? The best solution(s) to Even Up is to wear two orthopedic boots and look like a stormtrooper, or (if female), buy one of those chunky sneakers on Amazon. I love mine and they are the perfect height! Thanks Amazon!

Generally Helpful But Sizing Is Off
After a foot injury I needed to wear a walking boot. This left one leg far higher than the other and made it hard to walk. I ordered this product to help, which it did. However, the sizing wasn't great. I ordered based on my shoe size, but the rubber areas didn't really fit well because the shoe was too small to fit. I wear a women's size 6 and ordered the small. Since it didn't fit properly I couldn't bend my foot at all when walking with this on or the rubber parts would pop off my shoe. So, I kind of traded one issue for another. I had to walk with my foot flat all the time and couldn't walk anywhere near naturally since it kept popping off. Unfortunately it could have been a better experience if their sizing was labeled correctly. When you're already dealing with pain and a tough time getting around, you don't have time to fart around with returns so I had to keep it and make it work the best I could. My suggestion is that folks with shoe sizes at the smaller end of each size listed order down. Aside from the frustration of it not fitting as they said it would, it's a really useful product.

You need this to balance yourself if you have to wear "the Boot"
Works well and balances your hips and legs to be even when wearing the orthopedic boot. Need to wear with something like a tennis shoe that your foot will not lift out of. I tried some slip-on flats and my foot kept coming up from the shoe. The front of this balancer had rubber straps on either side of the toe of my shoe so if your shoe is not rounded like a tennis shoe it will slide foward between these straps. Once I had a good fitting shoe to put in it this leveler it worked great.

Tough to get on and off
I was using with gym shoes and tried to switch which pair of shoes I was using it on. This was pretty tough to get on and off my shoe and felt like my toes were being squished. Once on, it was also more difficult to get my foot into my shoe. It did help even out the height with the boot on the other foot though. It held up pretty well.

Have a broken leg and wearing a cast??
This even up shoe extender was a life saver. I broke my leg and was in a cast for 6 weeks. The cast was thick on the bottom making my leg longer than the no cast leg. Walking is difficult when you have a longer leg due to the cast. With this strapped onto the sole of my tennis shoe I was able to walk safely and more level. This helped my hip and leg during PT and the healing stage. I highly recommend these if you are in a cast.
