Will this leave any residue on wood floors? After being in place for up to a year?

My son had that problem on his wood floors, but goo by gone to care of the sticky stuff.

Can I cut this (I need a 3 ft and a 7 ft)?

Yes, and it cuts beautifully. I work in a furniture store, so I use hundreds of feet of this. The old stuff I used to get took forever and destroyed your hands trying to cut it, this is literally like butter. My only caveat about the black is that it's kind of sticky on the outside, so it picks up lint like crazy. Have wipes handy to clean it off after it's down.
