Would buy again
Writing this in my third year of ownership, really good microwave not had a single problem or issue so far. Only things Iโm not a fan of if your hands are wet the nobs are hard to turn as no grip on them. So people who struggle with dexterity or arthritis in their hands this might not be the best choice. Also if your defrosting something or microwaving something with a high water content the microwave vent isnโt that good so get a lot of condensation and water buildup in the microwave. Though thatโs solved by leaving the door open for 20minutes. Overall very happy with the purchase and very happy with the product price at the time of buying. Also happy to have a low budget microwave from a good reliable brand as Iโm a student so no much I can afford and donโt need any fancy features. Also I really like the size of the microwave fits perfectly under one of my cupboards!

Toshiba for the win...
Great manual microwave. Looks modern amd stylish, well built so im sure it will last a long ehile. Controls work exactly as you would expect, plenty of room inside, but not so big as it is awkward to find a spot on my counter top. And it is simple to operate. Great value.

On Offer For Less Than 60 Quid
My elderly parents carers put a meal in their microwave which had a tinfoil base. I can't grumble since the carers are lovely to my folks but sometimes there's is a bit of cultural difference as maybe they haven't experienced a microwave in the past, (bless 'em), so no biggy. I had to get a new one and this was on offer for less than ยฃ60. What's great about it is it's simple. No confusing microprocessor and 1001 different settings, it's the timeless design of a power knob and a timer knob. Mom and Dad had some nice hot meals since Sunday when it came and the carers haven't managed to blow this one up yet. *EDIT** It's been 8 months since I purchased this, and it is still foolproof for my mom and dads carers and still delivering the goods in a couple of twists and button presses. So simple but does the job it was designed for admirably. Back in the early 80's when the microwave craze really took hold Toshiba was THE biggest name in MW ovens. Don't get me wrong I doubt they are made in Japan now, but Japanese manufacturers do outsource to Indonesia China Taiwan etc. I will trust any Japanese manufacturer to have the same standards and QC as their own domestically produced items. Ask me how I know? I have bought quite a few Japanese brand guitars over the years (basses actually) Yamaha, Ibanez etc, and the budget models made in cheaper countries are every bit as good in terms of quality as the very much higher priced Japanese manufactured guitars. That is because such names cannot be sullied with poor workmanship, so while offering premium products at premium prices (if made in Japan) they ensure that quality conforms to their own exacting standards where ever it's produced. I suspect this is exactly the same for Toshiba, as the oven I bough for my parents has taken a hammering every day since it was bought, far more that a normal MW would have to as it's now the only thing that heats their food (had to cut off the gas stove supply a couple of years ago for safety as mom has dementia). ALl our kids have now left home, so when the time comes I'm going to remove the monster of a microwave we have and get one of these. Ver, very happy with the product still.

Cheap, but has defects. However Customer Relations response very helpful.
ORIGINAL REPORT: Low price, but after 3 years shows signs of rust and peeling paint finish. When the door is shut it fires the 'open' button across the floor with some considerable velocity. Reflects the purchase price. UPDATE: Toshiba have been generous in offering us a replacement. However, I told Wendy of Toshiba's customer relations I had already purchased an alternative microwave, so did not need another. Despite this, after several attempts to refuse the replacement I gave in and a replacement was sent. I have given this to a friend. I shall check whether the release knob does not fly off, and shall report back if able. As to the other defects listed above, we shall need to wait for 3 yrs or more to assess the quality. Very good customer service response, though.

A quality microwave I am very impressed
I am very impressed, it looks great, very modern and compact, I was worried the dials would be a problem having read some reviews, but I am pleased to say they are perfect, yes compared to the old Asda one it has replaced the dials are not as loose to turn but this is not a problem if anything it gives it a sense of quality and precision, it is quiet in operation and cooks well, I choose the Toshiba name having been pleased with both Tvโs and computers over the years, it is a quality name and on first impression their microwave is quality too ๐๐

Smashing little pop de ping
So the last microwave we'd had for years. I'm not sure we ever really cleaned it properly as it dawned on me it was utterly revolting and beyond saving. So, that went in the bin. Didn't want to spend a fortune, don't think you should have to for such a cooking tool Turns out you don't. This wasn't the cheapest but was well down there. It's so far so good. Heats stuff. On time. So that's good. It's pretty light weight so I got in unpacked and up on a shelf in the garage pretty easily. It seems to work well. Timer is fine, heat level.is fine, and not overly noisy. The light inside with the door shut is dim so you can't really see what's going on in there, but it's pretty obvious it's getting warm; or hot depending what you chose. I have no complaints so far. You can gwt enough in there so good capacity. I mean who wants to put a whole chiken in there, if you do, don't bother with this one it's not that big. It sits nice on the side and ain't gonna wobble. Makes a sweet ping when it's done. Yep, so, all in all, good value, works well, looks fine. Decent overall pop de ping. UPDATE: really happy after a few weeks of use of this. The controls work perfectly well, the ping at the end is pretty loud. I'm liking it. FURTHER UPDATE: absolutely no issues what so ever with this microwave this has been a great purchase and still working perfectly. Very happy with it still.
