Yes, there is a packet of heat transfer compound included in the box.

Q: Why is this listed as being compatible with the Pontiac 400, but not the 455? I'm not aware of any differences with the distributor??

looked up on Rock Auto, for a 1976 Pontiac firechicken. both the 400 and 455 for that year show the same delco part # D1906. If you are relying on Amazon's application chart you will be in a constant return line to get credit for your parts.

Q: is the depthi ds10071 the exact replacement for the ACdelco D1906.

The Delphi ignition module was the exact size of the module I was replacing in my chevy distributor.

Q: Why will Amazon not ship this to California?

Likely because of aftermarket/environmental restrictions. Seems weird because this is original equipment for many late model vehicles, even though it’s not in an AC Delco box.
