Sturdy and very nice piece - Perfect !
This can be used behind your license plate as an excellent support - It is very well made out of quality material. The surface is even protected from scratching with thin plastic film that you remove after installing. Definitely high quality and work with Michigan size motorcycle plates. Also, can be used on the back of a scooter as a perfect place to stick a the scooter permit and not have to stick onto the scooter itself.

Perfect to adapt a motorcycle license plate to fit onto a "too small" spot on a dirt bike with LED tail light. Thick and solid.
This is a very heavy gauge metal plate which worked perfectly for my application and needs. I installed an LED tail light on my dirt bike since the old tail light broke in a crash (never ask me who crashed). The old tail light assembly had a plastic panel attached below it for my license plate, since the bike is street legal. When that was removed, and the new tail light was installed, it's a little bit bizarre but there is a "license place light" to shine on the license plate (required to be street legal), but the piece of plastic on which to mount the license plate was tiny - not even 4" wide. No way to attach the license plate onto it. The license plate "spot" was kind of an afterthought, poorly implemented, although the tail light itself works great and installed quickly and easily. So I found and ordered this heavy-duty metal backing plate which has holes for the license plate to mount to it. I simply drilled some holes in the middle with matching holes in the plastic "mounting spot" of the new tail light assembly, and bolted this thick metal plate just below the new tail light, where the license plate is apparently supposed to go. I then attached the license plate to this via some additional bolts and self-locking nuts so nothing would vibrate loose, and I'm ready to rock and roll on the trails, or to drive down the street to get some gas. Frankly, this is the perfect solution to that dilemma, and I hope that some of you who are switching over to LED headlights and tail lights find this review to let you know, this not only can be done, but it's simple and inexpensive. Virtually all of the aftermarket LED tail light assemblies I found out there (amazing pricing, $10-$30, mine cost $12 I believe) have this skinny little, totally inadequate spot for your license plate. It's actually perfect for a couple of OHV stickers or whatever, but too small for an actual license plate. And this "adapter" is all you need to make it work.

Stiffen up your tag!
This polished, thick gauge stainless steel backing plate will help prevent vibration if you're riding a 'shaker' and also help prevent bending or breaking your tag and tag frame when bumped. It's very well made of solid SS with no burs, snags or die marks, fits perfectly behind the plate. Only issue I have is that it's a little on the pricey side. But, I haven't found anything to compare it to, either. So, four stars.

This one is an excellent choice
Very nice license plate backing/protector. I purchased this to protect my personalized plate and it was a great choice. Really nicely machined and very sturdy! It’s worked admirably to keep my plate looking like new!

unfinished side edge is sharp; it will cut you
The plate is of satisfactory quality. The thickness is good, polished on one side. However, the unfinished side edge is sharp; it will cut you. Filing the edge fixes it, but that should be done by the manufacturer. The screws included are okay, they would work if you had nothing.

Heavy duty.
I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m impressed. This thing is stout and highly polished. It looks way more expensive than the price would suggest. I might order a black one as well. If you’re on the fence about this because you’re concerned about the quality, don’t be. You will not be disappointed.

Sturdy, high quality
My motorcycle license plate is pretty thin and easily bent. Since I recently purchased a fender eliminator, there's just not much to keep the plate from getting a bit deformed. Now with this behind it, I'm confident that it's going to stay in good shape. If I didn't have a vanity plate, I might not care.
