JBL GTO1214 12-Inch Die-Cast Single-Voice-Coil Subwoofer

Purchased 11 months ago. Installed in a 07 Silverado truck. Actually, I have 2 JBL GTO 1214s in individual 1 Cu Ft boxes, sealed, stuffed with a combination of Polyfill and Fiberglass to make boxes sound fat and big. I still wish they were paper cone drivers, or some sort of classic thick-treated -paper, JBL style. But these do. I netted the fiberglass and poly/Dacron stuffing away from driver to keep particulate out of Voice Coil / spider gap, clear. I play them more for "SQ" but I love them nice and loud too. Soft Poly-Cone bass sound. Near opposite of the hard, tight sound of Aluminum subs. My setup, a Sony CD Deck (old CDX-GT530) into a Clarion EQS746 (EQ). Sub power amp is an Alpine MRX-F65 (bridged. 2-Channels, 2 Mono sub inputs from Clarion) 360WPC RMS. I love these woofers.

Dropped two of these in a 2 cubic foot box running off an RE Audio DTS-1500.1 in an F150 and the bass will cave your chest in. Can't complain at all for a total spend of less than $300. Subs are solid and well built. Handle all types of music well and can take a pounding without breaking a sweat.

I bought this sub 3 years ago and use it in a ported enclosure i built using JBL's enclosure specifications. The sub is well made and it produces a nice deep and accurate bass. It performs really good in all types of music. I'm satisfied with the quality of this sub and I'll continue using JBL products.

I used this in a tapped horn subwoofer enclosure for home theater.gets down to 16hz in that application. very good value in this application.

I have used JBL speakers for well over 40 years and nevere had one issue. It produced deep bass as I wanted.
