12 "Cake box" for CD/DVDs at the perfect size.
I've bought a lot of TV shows on DVD and often they come in two kinds of packaging: Either it's one big plastic box with 40-70 discs wedged in there overlapping/stacked on top of each other in a way that you feel like you're going to crack the disc just removing it from the case, OR it's a bunch of crappy paper sleeves held in a loose cardboard box (looking at you Mill Creek). While the paper sleeves are easier to remove without damaging the DVD, the cardboard box doesn't really protect the discs much at all. The Plastic box protects them (except when it doesn't) but it's usually crammed in so tight that I risk scratching or cracking them every time I remove them. So my answer to both problems is to buy these cake boxes to house the DVDs after I've removed them carefully from the original packaging. It's still not ideal but at least I don't have to worry that much about the discs. I also bought some 100 disc cake boxes but those are overkill for most TV shows so I'll save that for my personal stuff where you can't really categorize it anyway. The discs arrived in a nice box with enough padding to keep them from being damaged and I had no problems at all with opening it and getting the contents out. Other than that, you can see the picture of what it looks like and that's exactly what you get. No surprises.
