Review: First Carhartt Lives Up to the Name - Heavy duty hoodie that is better than anything else I have. I kept me warm during a 20 minute walk at 10pm in below freezing temps. Next day was below freezing and windy, and I didn't feel anything. Soft on the inside, so it's super comfortable despite being robust. It is quite big, so size down. I got a small and it fits like a large.
Review: Your size, get a size or 2 smaller - I returned the one I got..I normally like oversized hoodies, this was very comfortable and warm..quality carhartt as always! This was oversized in a way I've never experienced before.. when i put my hands in the pockets and bring them together to make the waistband snug around my body, I get about a 10" overlap, have never had a hoodie that the waistband was that big.. I recently bought a hoodie that was a 3x and it was almost too tight ..I wish there was an industry standard .. also wish they listed the waistband size, they just have chest measurements. I plan on getting this hoodie, but will go down a size or 2.. even the hood was waaay big, like "I'm going to catch every ounce of wind coming this way" big. EDIT: Got a 2x and its nice, still roomy enough, but waistband fits around my body so wind doesn't just blow up in easily.. the hood is normal size on this one ...everyone's body is different, these are just my personal experiences. All in all, great quality, very warm (it was windchill of -14F last night and I was comfortable during the 20min I was shoveling)

**Q: Anyone have experience with the effectiveness of the Rain Defender coating after repeated washings?**
A: I have had more than one rain defender product and found that it does actually hold up well with washing and drying, but air drying has worked best for me whenever possible.

**Q: What temperature range would this be comfortable, if I just wore a T-shirt under it?**
A: We live in the interior of Alaska. My husband and I each have one. I bought them last year at the onset of winter and we lived in them through the winter because they were so nice. The temperatures dipped into the -20’s a few times and with a t-shirt on underneath his, he was comfortable in the house. That’s equivalent to humid 20’s-30’s in the lower 48 to help you guys out. With his hoodie layered with his storm jacket that he bought years ago from another major retailer, he’s good 2 go. I really don’t layer unless I get hellaciously cold, then I REALLY layer. That sweatshirt was a great investment. Popped it on yesterday against the chill of the humidity, BAM! Gone!

A: The sleeve length is different with different sizes.

**Q: What is the lining like? is it fuzzy? or like a t-shirt "jersey-knit" material? (asking about the whole sweatshirt, not just the hood.)**
A: The inside is 80% cotton, 20% polyester.  It's more coarse than flannel, but very soft and comfortable.  The hood inside is like jersey knit and more smooth than the body, probably because the inside of the hood is visible, while the inside of the body not so much.  This heavyweight parka is very warm and comfortable.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worth the Money

This is the best sweatshirt I have ever owned and its currently my favorite item of clothing. It fits perfectly. It's heavy without being cumbersome. It breathes wonderfully (a feature that isn't hyped up in the description but is definitely appreciated) and it is actually very water resistant (not waterproof, but then...it's a sweatshirt so not sure why would expect that anyway). It is loose without being bulky. Would easily fit under a jacket. It's tough and designed for people who work for a living. I sit at a desk and still love it. I'm not a huge fan of labels and the Carhartt label placement is aesthetically not great, but a few seconds with an exacto knife and I've got a sweatshirt that I plan on wearing for a good portion of the rest of my life. Yes its expensive, but you get quality with the price. The only other complaint I have is that the inner lining flakes off in little black pieces of lint, but a single washing solved this. It's not a flaw so much as an aspect of the design and manufacturing of the product. Wash it in cold water and let it hang dry. After that...no little fuzzballs over your shirts. Seriously, I LOVE THIS SWEATSHIRT.
