Fits all Nova chucks
I needed an in between jaw size from what I already have. The Nova chuck product line has many accessories that are interchangeable thus making wood turning a more fun hobby or business.

A nice set of jaws to fill the gap
I've found that there's a gap between the diameter that the regular sets of jaws cover. (The #1, #2, & #3 Jaws) Like between the #2 jaws max dia. and the #3 jaws min. there's a size range between that neither one fits. I cant remember what it is right now but when I had the full set with the CSI chuck I was always hitting that "dead zone" between the jaw capacities. The #1 wouldn't go big enough and the #2 wouldn't go small enough. Same with something bigger. The #2 jaws wont go big enough to hold it but the #3 jaws wont go small enough to hold it. Making what I call the "Dead Zone" between them. I ended up sending the CSI chuck and jaw set back because of that and other issues. At the time I was new to woodturning but had been a machinist for over 20 years and didn't know this was the norm for woodturning chucks. I thought that there were more things in common between the two trades than there really is. Any who, this set fills in that gap between the #2 & #3 jaws. From my machinist view if they would make the jaws not quit as wide so that they could have more travel then there would not be this "dead zone" between the jaw sizes. If they made the jaws narrower it would increase their travel about half an inch. The master jaws in the chuck already have the larger travel range and ability but the way the jaws are made, as wide as they are made, reduces the chucks capacity. So its not the chucks fault, its the way the jaws are made. As it is to help save time from having to keep changing the jaw size on your chuck when you change size of project you need to have a separate chuck for each size of jaws. I'm going to see if I can work up a quick change method of changing these jaws. Overall, if you don't like working with step jaws, which is the only alternative to multiply sets of single step jaws, and want something to fill that gap between so you don't have to worry about making your work fit the standard jaws, then I suggest these. And If you have the money, get a chuck for each size of jaws so you don't have to waste time changing the jaws and just swap to the chuck with the jaws you need.

Typical excellent Nova accuracy and finish
When I moved up to a larger lathe and a Supermatic2 chuck I asked a more experienced friend what the most common jaw size he used was. The 70mm, he said, and so I ordered this set. It’s finely machined and finished, like all Teknatool/Nova chucks, and fits perfectly on all my Nova chucks. If you’re buying a new chuck the best deal is one of the Nova packages, but if you have a Nova chuck without a set of 70mm jaws, this is definitely a set you should add.

Good midsize jaws
Works great in a mortise. I haven’t tried a tenon yet but was disappointed that it’s not tapered for a tenon.

Lathe jaws that are well made and finished
Like all Nova chucks and accessories these are well made and work great on my Jet midi lathe (12” capacity. They filled a hole in the size of the tendon/recess that I can put on a bowl or other turning. As I stated earlier — well made and finished.

Fits well on chuck
The numbered segments fit on my chuck just like the ones that came with it originally.

Great mid-size jaws
These 3" jaws (or 70 mm) are pretty hard to find, it seems. But sometimes the standard 2" jaws are a bit too small, but you just don't want a foot as large as the huge 4" power grip jaws, so you want something in between. Here you go. These don't even show up on the Teknatool website anymore. They have the 3" bowl jaws (no contraction mode for those, by the way) or the step jaws (Still never quite the right size), but these fill the gap just right for medium size work, in either expansion or contraction mode.

Nice addition to Nova chuck set.
Makes a great add to Nova chucks. You need bigger jaws when doing bigger work - I use these for 6-10" bowls when using a chuck.
