Is this the bungee cord style or the one that does not tangle and the suares remain the same size

It is a bungee cord style that is tied into a grid pattern with plastic hooks around the perimeter. It will stretch a fair amount to conform to the shape of what ever is under it. The hooks can be repositioned if needed, ie. if you want to double the net over to cover a smaller area. It took a little patience initially to unfold it, getting all the hooks unsnarrled and get it laid out on my flat truck bed, but now that its there I have no problem with it.

will a golf ball go through the holes in the net?

Yes I have already threw the net in the garbage . It was not worth ordering...... terrible purchase

how big are the small holes?

Stretched over the bed of the truck, the holes measure about 10-inches to 12-inches, depending on how tight you pull the netting.

What is the maximum width?

They offer different sizes so I am not sure to which one you refer.
