Great product
Worked great. I had to make a cardboard box car for my child. This made it so much easier than using just a razor blade. I was even able to cut circles for the wheels, just traced it first and then followed the line.

Best tool to break down boxes!
I was using a serrated steak knife to break down boxes because it is safer than a box knife and I think easier to use for that purpose. It worked very well and it was fast. Then I started doing research to find something even better. A lot of people like the Kershaw Leek which lists for over $100 and it is definitely not as safe as a steak knife. The I came across the Canary and I have always been impressed with the Japanese when it comes to knives (and many other products) .For $8 it was worth a shot. It exceeded my expectations and I just ordered another one to keep in my kitchen. It is faster and easier than the steak knife and very safe. It is thin and teflon coated so out slides in underneath a box flap and cuts the tape easily, then I plunge cut the tape the length of the box and make a turn when I get to the end without stopping to cut underneath the flap on one side, and because the knife is double sided I can move it back the other way and cut the tape on the other flap with out turning the knife around. This process is so fast and smooth it blows away the steak knife! If the box is really big then I cut the cardboard up in smaller pieces. I was surprised how well the Canary works for this, way better than expected. You can just pull it through the cardboard and it will cut it but it works better if you saw back and forth. Other reviews say it cuts cardboard like butter and that is a bit of an exaggeration but it does an excellent job.

Wonderful gadget for a common problem.
I love this gadget. I was unable to do much for a period of time and so had cardboard boxes piling up. They were taking up a ridiculous amount of space in my living room and taking out garbage was difficult for me. So I got this and in a few hours all the ungainly boxes were broken down into pieces that fit in one box. It works amazingly well and so far has not seemed to dull at all. It's extremely easy to use - just glides through the cardboard to cut it

Amazing and really handy
These work incredibly well! While they are awesome for opening everyday boxes, they are also stellar at tearing down big/heavyweight cardboard boxes, like the huge TV box I just had to dispose of. Easily cuts heavy cardboard up into whatever sized chunks you want. SO much better than a box cutter.

More of a fine tooth saw than a box cutter
Based on some of the other reviews, I expected this to cut through cardboard boxes as easily as a box cutter. It doesn’t. It seems that many of the other reviewers have not been very good about changing dull, razor blades in their box cutters and utility knives. That said, it does cut through boxes, but it requires a bit of back-and-forth motion as though it is a small saw rather than a sharp blade. This is great for cutting holes in boxes to turn them into temporary cat toys, but it makes breaking down a stack of boxes for recycling more work than a sharp razor blade would be. It is better at cutting open packages, slicing through packing tape with ease. Whatever you use this for, the handle is comfortable and it seems pretty well-made. If you think you need something like this and you are maybe drawn to not having to ever replace a blade or sharpen it or worry about keeping it in a sheath, then give it a shot—it’s affordable and handy.

Great for cutting cardboard and not you finger
Cuts cardboard much better than any knife, and safer. Cardboard will dull a knife fairly fast, but this cutter will continue to cut cardboard for a long time.

Love this cardboard box cutter. The serrations make all the difference.
I really do like this company, Canary, they make great products. The scissors are super sharp and stay that way for a long time. And this new cardboard box cutter is amazing. I have had it and used it for the past 3 months and it is like using a hot knife through butter, or cardboard in this case. The knife has these tiny little serrations which makes all the difference in cutting cardboard so easy. Since the pandemic, my wife and I have been ordering things online more often. So we get packages nearly 4-5 times a week. The amount of cardboard boxes starts to build up, and just breaking them down and folding them was not enough. They needed to be cut into the right size to fit inside the recycling bin. So I tried a regular knife, which worked but eventually the knife got dull and I had to sharpen it. Then I tried those utility knives, which then I started going through those replacement blades a lot. So then I found this, and it’s been perfect so far. No need to sharpen as it stays super sharp, but not dangerous to hands and other fleshy body parts that might get in the way, say my fat arm or foot. The tip is rounded so you can’t really stab yourself too bad and it also has a nice non-stick coating to keep the adhesive tape residue down as well. I also love the bright yellow handle which just brings joy as i cut up cardboard boxes with easy. And now all the boxes fit nicely into the recycling bin.

A great Box cutting tool, my only gripe is that i wish it had a slightly pointier end as it is sometimes hard to get it in and under tape. It does works a treat, i love the saftey aspect as its not sharp that it can cut your fingers but super sharp to easily cut through card board. My other little gripe you get the flimsiet thinnest and i mean super thin protective sleeve, like seriously it may as well not even be included at this pooint. It is so so thin it takes forever to open it to put the blade in when finished. If you are going to include a protective sleeve which i believe is necessary, make it a half decent one at least. Bar this the Canary corrugated Box Cutter is brilliant. Recommended
