Is this machine hard to turn?

Has anyone tried freezing water inside the ice pusher and then using those cubes in the shaver? Will it the pusher crack in the freezer?

I remember seeing this so I just tried it and it works and gives you a whole cup of shaved ice. My pusher didnt crack and the lid does come off. . Ice is a little hard to get out but I wouldn't recommend banging injust run warm water and it should slide out soon. Better than ice cubes. The pusher ice is one job with ice cubes you have to fill it twice for a whole cup. Thanks for the suggestion!!

Is the ice like snow cone ice or shaved ice?

The final result from this is shaved ice but you could certainly add some flavor to it to make a snow cone, too, I would think!
